• Undertake Protection monitoring activities to the field. Monitor, analyze and provide reports on the protection conditions for refugees and other persons of concerns.
• Identify protection gaps and interventions; Review reports from the field. Guide/ advice and implement the appropriate UNRWA to respond to protection concerns of refugees
• Organize/actively participate in the area Protection Working Group and other relevant meetings; Draft minutes, convene meetings and support the inter-agencies ‘collaborative response’
• Organize/facilitate relevant protection training activities: Organize local Community and leaders as well as for UNRWA staff in order to build their capacity and encourage affective protection networks.
• Advocate with the government and other actors to take appropriate measure to address the protection concerns facing the refugees.
• Supports the delivery of trainings to UNRWA personnel on protection and humanitarian principles (particularly neutrality) as required; Trainer in the following subjects: Childe Protection, GBV, Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities, Addressing Violence Against Children, and the relation between protection & MHPSS.
• Master TOT Age Inclusive Humanitarian Intervention
• Prepares reports, briefings, and training materials as required and conducts oral and written translations of Arabic and English where required;
• Provide support, guidance and assistance to protection and area staff on protection priorities, issues and concerns.
Responsible of the Palestine Refugees from Syria file, and performing the following duties
• Attend KAP coordination meeting at camp operational and Amman level strategic and coordinate needed efforts with internal and external stakeholders including UNHCR, UNICEF, WFP and camp management. This is done in coordination with the KAP Social Worker SW.
• Coordinate the implementation of protection activities in KAP as per the plan in coordination with KAP SW. This activities are coordinated and implemented by the Irbid Area Protection Working Group APWG.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of all families residing in the camp and specific target groups in coordination with KAP SW. The aim is to be able to provide better and need based services to this very much vulnerable population.
• Lead the coordination and reporting of the response of covid-19 in KAP. Currently NPU is doing KAP weekly updates.
• Coordinating and supporting the protection activities.
• Coordinating and leading the Monthly protection meetings with ESW take place in JFO. The meetings usually last a full day in which priorities, relevant topics and upcoming tasks are discussed. Within these exchanges, there is always a capacity building element related to better responding and reporting protection cases
• Provide technical support and guidance regarding case management, categorisation, follow up, referrals and data management to SW E in order to have timely and accurate information being available to guide

• Provide general protection case management services in compliance with best-practice and international standards in protection response including assessment of need, development of case plan and referral/facilitation of access to services, follow-up, and case closure.

- Support the officer in data analysis of case management data in a safe and ethical manner

Coordination and representation:
- Collaborate with other UNRWA’s sectors and NGOs to ensure a coordinated and collaborative response to the provision of services and assistance for those benefiting from case management
- Maintain effective working relationship with relevant stakeholders including partner agencies, community leaders and service providers
- Advocate for the needs of vulnerable refugees both internally and through coordination mechanisms through evidence-based advocacy
- Ensure up-to-date understandings of service providers operating in the area based on available service mappings and coordination with stakeholders
- Assists the OSO in communicating and explaining UNRWA's mandate to refugee community, advising on issues related to the Agency's facilities;
- Providing training to staff in related issued (like, Humanitarian principles and Protection Training)
- Co-leading Area Protection Work Group /APWG (an environment-building activity and monitors the process of mainstreaming protection throughout programming and operations in UNRWA at an Area level)
