Widening of Shaikh Khalifa Bin Salman highway & Improvement of intersection
with Shaikh Isa Bin Salman Highway (Bridge & Highway), Bahrain.

Client : Ministry of Works, Municipalites and Urban Planning, Bahrain

a) Bridge length of 515m, width of section 13.45m carrying 2 lanes of 3.75m each, an outer shoulder of 3m and an inner shoulder of 1.96m. The bridge will be built with the incremental launching construction method. The structural work includes, the construction of 164 no’s of RC cast in situ pilling, 13 no’s of pile caps, 2 no’s of abutments and 13 no’s of piers, 25 no’s of
prestressed post- tensioning deck segments and precast concrete barriers.

b) Replacement of Expansion joints for 12 no’s of existing bridges at various locations in Bahrain.

c) Construction & Supervision of Culvert which includes 126 no’s of secant piles and 2 no’s of wing wall.

d) Widening and improve the overall highway of SKBS highway between SKBS/SIBS
IC and Budaiya IC : The project stretch is about total road length of 6030.18 m
including widening of the existing carriageway to 4 lanes, milling and re-profiling
of existing and provision of shoulders.

Task Assigned:

- Performing quality control activities through daily inspections and direct supervision on all project activities, such as: Pile shaft boring activities, RC cast in situ pile foundation, pile cap foundation, Piers, Abutments, replacement of expansion joints, highways ( Subgrade, Subbase, Road base, Bituminous base course & Asphalt wearing coarse ) and remaining reinforced concrete structural elements, including post-tension girder deck etc. others, in addition to different water proofing systems on site.
- Remained on-site to ensure that all work was carried out according to Project specifications.
- Inspecting materials arriving to site.
- Ensuring works being undertaken by the Contractor have been allotted sufficient manpower, equipment and materials in accordance with the approved program of works.
- Ensuring proper implementation of approved method statements on site.
- Assuring that project site meets legal guidelines, health and safety requirements.
- Assisting senior consultant engineer in the checking of design drawings, shop drawings, method statement reports, technical reports, valuation of variations, and other contractual materials.
- Supervising Dewatering works
- Supervising bore holes sampling, pile casing installation for piling work, checking drilled pile depth and calliper test after installation of bored pile casing
- Reinforcement inspection of pile steel reinforcement cage and checking sonic pipes which is fixed in the steel cage for ultrasonic Cross hole test.
- Supervising of dynamic load test, integrity load test, ultrasonic Cross hole sonic test & Static load test of pile on working pile
- Supervising pile head treatment and water proofing works on pile cap.
- Checking installation & fixing of reinforcement bars, Fixing of Shutters and pouring of concrete for pile cap, piers, Bridge deck, secant piles, wing wall, slab & fixing of monorail beam for culvert and precast parapets.
- Checking concrete slump and temperature
- Supervision of post tension works and checking of calculated reports.
- Coordinate completion of projects, ensure completion of all project paperwork, coordinate and undertake inspection with contractors.

a) Design and construction supervision of commercial complex building.

Tasks Assigned:
- Setting out, leveling and surveying the site.
- Checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations.
- Ensuring that all materials used and work performed are as per specifications.
- Overseeing the selection and requisition of materials.
- Liaising with clients and their representatives (architects, engineers and surveyors), including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress.
- Planning the work and efficiently organizing the site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines.
- Overseeing quality control, health and safety matters on site.
- Preparing reports as required
- Solving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.

a) Ta’azeez Tower, Al Dammam, KSA is a 30 storied high rise commercial building (3 Basement+27 Story- Post tensioned slabs) with a total height of 123 metres. The total build up area is 8000 M2 for parking on Basement and Ground Floor. Mezzanine Floor, First Floor consists of Parking & Offices which has an area of 6000 M2 on each floor. The remaining typical floors consist of 960 M2 on each floor which is designed for Office & Commercial purpose. (Built up area: 40, 000 M2 including Civil- Structural works, Electro-Mechanical & Finishing works). This building will soon be the tallest building in the region with height of 123 Mts.

b) Hyundai- Al Majdouie Group - Karawan Business Park & Residential Villas is a mixed development centre, comprises of a Office building, Hotel Building 10 storied each, Community centre & Plaza area (Business Park) and 59 Luxury residential villas with a mini park, landscaping, security systems, Storm sever systems and basketball playground.

c) Bridge (Saudi Railway)- Al-Dammam (K.S.A). A medium bridge of post tensioned box girder bridge of length 200 M. The structural work includes, the construction of RC cast in situ pilling, pile caps, abutments and piers, prestressed post-tensioning cast in situ box girder deck and RC concrete barriers.

Task Assigned :

• Prepare Daily log activities for information to superiors.
• Prepare site inspection, site memorandum & request for inspection reports (RFI).
• Checking quality of material as per approved material submittal.
• Supervise testing and sampling of concrete delivered to site. Testing includes checking of temperature, required slump and make samples for laboratory to check estimated strength.
• Witnessing of tensile, bent test for steel and compressive test for concrete cylinders.
• To check site work regarding rebar installation and shuttering etc. others prior to preparation of inspection request.
• Witness compressive test of concrete hollow blocks, Pull out test of epoxy etc. other tests.
• Responsible for submitting proposals and calculations of design modifications as per client requirements.
• Responsible for calculating and submitting Variation cash flow records (Bill of Quantities) and updating as per client requirements.
• Responsible for design of post tensioned slabs and was involved in execution & inspection of tendons layout and reinforcement along with Freyssinet
• Check leak test for water proofing and injection for water leakages in floors and walls.
• Responsible for design and execution of Unitise facade system.
• Attend client meeting on project progress, qualities and handover issues and maintain report with project manager said issues.
• Coordinate with Architect, M&E, Subcontractors (Fressinet, ThyssenKrupp, Alumaco, Absar, Saudi Ready mix, Fugro Suhaimi, Bina etc. others) and Site foremens regarding work implementation and schedule activities.
• Prepare and conduct technical communications and functions as liaison between the Company and client to resolve technical issues and promote understanding.
• Responsible for reviewing all construction drawings to ensure that they contain the necessary quality related requirements and get Consultants approval prior to release for construction. Review and approve all as built drawings prior to final submission to the Consultant.
• Supervise/Inspect and execute all construction works of the project.
• Preparing structural analysis models using ETABS and SAFE.
• Assisting in preparation of design criteria reports.
• Detailed designing of structural elements.
• Prepare Shop Drawings and bar bending schedule for structural works according to ACI codes by using AutoCAD.
• Obtained approval for generated drawings and sketches as per site requirements.
• Ensured compliance of all drawings with required design specifications according to ACI codes.
