Collect and prepare specimens and perform laboratory procedures used in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease.
Prepare samples and reagents for testing according to laboratory policies.
Responsible for the accuracy, interpretation and reporting of all test results according to laboratory policies.
Perform routine maintenance on equipment and quality control for all reagents.
Keep accurate records of quality control, maintenance and workload data according to laboratory policies.
Refer problems and unusual results to appropriate parties and document all corrective action procedures undertaken in the Laboratory.
Demonstrated the ability to communicate test results effectively with physicians, pathologists and nursing staff as a member of interdisciplinary team focused on providing exemplary quality of care.
Perform clerical and support services as needed, such as answering the telephone, calling STATS and alerting values to the appropriate department or clinician, disposing of contaminated specimens, control of inventory, etc.
Maintains medical laboratory equipment performance by establishing quality standards, developing operations, quality, and troubleshooting procedures, certifying instrument performance, service, and repair.
Maintains quality results by participating in the hospital quality assurance program, consulting with Supervisor, performing proficiency surveys, reviewing quality control and quality assurance programs, making adjustments in procedures, generating reports, maintaining records.
Recognizing the responsibilities of other laboratory and health care personnel and interacting with them with respect for their jobs and patient care
Serves and protects the hospital community by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and jcaho standards.
Performs all other additional assignments as requested by the Chief Technician, Clinical Pathologist and Clinical Director.

MICROBIOLOGY: Tests in Parasitology, Trained to perform basic, special and recent techniques in Virology, Mycology and Clinical Microbiology laboratories. PATHOLOGY: Trained to perform basic, special and recent techniques in Histopathology, Cytology, Blood bank, Flow cytometry Techniques, Confocal microscopy, and immune fluorescent techniques. HEMATOLOGY: Fully automated five part differential counters, Urine analyzer CLINI TEK 500 (Bayer), Automated ESR analyzer, trained to perform basic, special and recent techniques in Hematology. BIOCHEMISTRY: Fully automated Chemistry analyzers, Immunoassay analyzers, ELISA analyzer Bio-Rad EVOLIS, Coagulation Analyzers, Trained to perform basic, special and recent techniques in Clinical Biochemistry.
