Manage the health, Safety and environmental arrangements for the project against the WSP HSE Management system, to ensure the protection of people.
Manage HSE Inspectors to ensure they are monitoring the implementation of health and safety arrangements at project site level, in accordance with legal and client requirements.
Develop and deliver HSE training to DEC employees.
Review and approve contractor's health, safety and environmental plans, risk assessments and method statement against legal and client requirements.
Regular site visits across project sites to ensure health and safety measures are in place.
Carry out join HSE inspections with HSE inspectors, authority OHSE staff & contractor personnel.
Conduct HSE meetings, contractors co-ordination meeting with clients, project staff and contractors.
Initiate and test emergency response plans and ensure the drills are carried out as per the project schedule and performance standards.
Liaise with enforcement authorities (DACC), review and submit monthly OHSE reports.
Provide necessary technical guidance for accident protection.
• Assess and monitor compliance requirements and alignment with local HSE legislative and regulatory obligations
• Undertake daily visual inspections, reporting issues and submitting observation findings to the contractor, via project reporting system. Follow-up the close-out within established timeframes.
• Assist and where necessary lead Investigation exercise of all incidents and near misses. Report in accordance with the client requirements and procedures. Ensure that necessary preventative measures are identified based on the worst potential consequences and that these measures are applied effectively.
• Review risk mitigation documentation` such as plans, procedures and task specific Safe Work Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
• Check HSE requirements in method statements, risk assessments and permit to work procedures submitted by the Contractor and that activities are in line with the safe work methodology.
• Reviewing Contractor's Pre-Qualification Tender Documents
• Attend, Coordinate and Record site SH&E meetings with project stakeholders.
• Attend risk assessment and leadership training.
• Ensure all staff has relevant training for their role.
• Set a high personal example of Health & Safety at all items.
• Leading site HSE team compose of 15+ safety officers/engineers on medium to large scales projects in maintaining a safe working environment through pro-active enforcement of safety regulations.
• Monitoring project compliance with company health and safety management system, local rules & regulation, and legislation
• Conduct daily monitoring, and documented periodic safety inspections to identify report, and correct work-associated hazards and unsafe acts/conditions
• Coordinate with client, Consultant and other interested parties including local authorities as and when required.
• Assisting the construction team in the production of risk assessments.
• Advising management on occupational health and safety matters including industry best practices.
• Developing strategies that improve project occupational health and safety performance to achieve accident /incident-free site.
• Develop, establish, and implement in-house safety training modules and arrangement of training for the employees
• Coordinating training and competency requirements of site operational and HSE team Participate in the Client HSE Meeting, Project Kick-off meetings. Conduct Project Safety Meetings, HSE Committee meetings, emergency call meetings.
• Conducting Workers Accommodation Inspections on monthly basis
• Enforcing HSE Plan, safety guidelines and programs
• Continuous inspection of project sites, to ensure a hazard-free environment
• Maintaining HSE documentation as per the company standards
• Conducting Tool box talk and training presentation to the workforce

European Safety Council’s catalyst qualification is “European Safety Council’s International Diploma in Health and Safety Engineering Endorsed by Qualifi”. It has two units Management of Health and Safety and Industrial Hazards, risk and control Measures. A 199 out of 300 credit score was achieved.
The Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety consists of 7 mandatory units for a combined total of 30 credits scored. Mandatory units: Health and Safety Management Principles and Policy (4 credits) Health and Safety Management Practice (4 credits) Risk and Incident Management (4 credits) Promoting a Positive Health and Safety Culture (4 credits) Maintaining a Safe Workplace Environment (6 credits) Health and Safety Law, Regulation and Influence (5 credits) Development of the Health and Safety Practitioner (3 credits)
