• Consult with Management concerning design and operational requirements for new projects and translate such requirements into a design brief.
• Co-ordinate the design and planning work with a team of Architects, Engineers, Quantity Surveyor and other Design Consultants at the preliminary, conceptual and implementation stages of projects.
• Plan, organize, implement and manage development of projects, including mock ups and its interior fit-out work to be in time for sales launches.
• Liaise with Consultants & Contractors to ensure construction program as per schedule and that billings & certificates are issued promptly, based on agreed cash flow forecasts
• Assist to supervise, co-ordinate and monitor the daily operations at project site to ensure all works carried out by contractors/sub-contractors comply with consultants’ instructions, specifications, drawings, as well as the Group’s quality expectations.
• Assist to ensure implementation and adherence to ISO 9001:2008 quality control on works carried out by contractor to minimise future defects by inspecting and accurately recording all works carried out.
• Assist in other tasks assigned as and when required by Management

• Coordinate with the Design and Production (drafting) team to produce Workable Drawings and other related documents for Costing and Tendering Exercise.
• Liaising directly with all the Local Authority Departments for Planning and Building Plans Approval and the Utility Service Providers.
• Liaising closely with Suppliers, Manufacturers and other System Specialist into Acquiring the necessary Technical Information for Integration into the Project.
• Coordinating with Relevant Consultants to produce Construction Drawings.
• Assume the role of the Contract Administrator or SO for the Contract of the Works Awarded.
• Leading the Consultants for all the coordination works at the site with the Construction Team, ie. reviewing Safe Work Method Statement and Shop drawings.
• Heading the Design Team and representing the Client / Employer in the regular Site Progress Meeting and other progress and coordination works.
• Performing QA/QC Inspection on the Architectural Works at the site to ensure Works carried-out Conformed to the Specification, Quality and to the Satisfactory of the Architect / SO.
• Conducting regular Site Visit and Inspection during Construction Period to Monitor Compliances with Approved Design and Contract.
• Verifying with the Consultants on Value of Works carried-out and Materials Delivered at site for Progress Payments to Contractor.
• Visiting the Factories with Relevant Consultants for Inspecting the Quality of Fabricated Building Materials and Verifying the Factory Acceptance Test and M&E Systems and Installation.
• Together with the Design Team to liaise closely and coordinate with the Construction Team to Resolve the Technical Difficulties / Problems encountered to ensure Works Completed on Schedule and within Budget.

Project :
• Affordable Conservation for Affordable Housing Scheme
A loan and incentive scheme by the Penang State Government and the Federal Government for landlords whose pre-war premises were affected by the repeal of the Rent Control Act (2000).

Responsibilites :
• To report directly to the Penang’s Chief Minister about the progress of the scheme. The scheme was incepted after the repeal of the Rent Control Act, to encourage the landlords into conserving, restoring and repairing as well as upgrading their pre-war properties in accordance to the City of Penang’s Conservation Guidelines through non-collateral loan with low interest rates with the conditions to maintain the existing tenants within their properties. This job involved dealing with different landlords of different backgrounds with different premises conditions, participating banks, state and local government authorities as well as the local NGOs.

Project :
• Research Officer
Preparation of dossier for the Inscription of Historic Centres of Melaka and Penang into UNESCO’s World Heritage List.

Responsibilites :
• The consultancy was appointed by both the Penang and Malacca State Government for for taking the task to prepare official dossier for the Inscription of Historic Centres of Melaka and Penang into UNESCO’s World Heritage List. A team was set-up that comprised experts in various relevant fields from the local Universities, ie. Historians, Planners, Architects and would meet in a weekly meeting and discussion to preparing the dossier. The task also involved dealing with both Malacca and Penang’s State Government’s departments and agencies, the Ministry of Arts, Cultural and Tourism of the Malaysian Federal Government, NGOs, experts in local cultures and representatives of the multi-cultural local communities in organising talks and discussions, collecting data and gathering information and coordinating the preparation of the Local Management Plan for both cities.
