Project supervision, Coordinate the field operation, Perform and supervise in-situ borehole testing (Pressure meter, seismic down hole and cross hole tests, permeability tests), processing and interpreting test data, Borehole logging, sampling for laboratory tests, Preparation laboratory test schedule, Perform, processing and interpretation of CPT results, perform liquefaction analysis based on SPT and CPT data( using software tools), preparation of factual and draft engineering reports, liaison with client and issuing interim invoice as per the contract
Responsibilities:
•Collects information from client such as foundation requirements, levels, previous uses of site if available, site plan etc.
•Makes site inspection visit to collect the information such as present land use for the site and adjacent features, surface topography and geological features
•Logging of samples, which includes disturbed, undisturbed, and spilt spoon samples (soil and rock), and preparation of borehole logs
•Prepares laboratory testing program for the selected samples in order to determine the physical, mechanical, and chemical properties of the ground materials
•Perform a site visit to supervise the drilling procedures and all the site works according to specifications and standards
•Check the in-situ and laboratory test results in accordance with BS 1377-1~9:1990 - Methods of Test for Civil Engineering Purposes
•Calculate the allowable bearing capacity of shallow (isolated/ strip/ combined/ mat/ raft) foundations not exceeding the allowed maximum settlements of soil
•Determine the allowable working loads for both in tension and compression for pile foundations recommending different pile diameters and lengths that can be used
•Reviews geotechnical reports based on the analysis of the field and laboratory test results
•Reviews test reports to determine if physical characteristics of sample specimens meet specifications and quality control standards
•Reviews the draft and final reports and submit final test reports for approval by Head of Geotechnical who is authorized to approve reports in the absence of the Head of Geotechnical
•Performs or assists subordinates in performing duties
•Participate in internal audits and inter-laboratory audits
•Develops, evaluates, recommends and implements test procedures on approval from the company management
•Modifies existing methods, and develops and validates new methods
•Recommends to management any disciplinary action to be taken against an employee in the section
•Performs duties and jobs related to the advancement of the company as may be assigned by the management from time to time.
