As the lead consultant for the project, my company was responsible for ensuring that the project design documentation was completed in-line with the fast track completion programme, and efficient supervision of all construction activities in-order for the facility to be fully operational during the UAE’s inaugural Formula 1 Grand Prix on the 1st November 2009, at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.

I was further responsible for the design and supervision package of the modification works undertaken by the Client based on tenancy agreements.

My responsibilities are but not limited to:

a) Project Management of MEP and overall management under circumstances.
b) Re-Design and document the complete electrical system in compliance with the Local Authority Regulations (ADDC).
c) Review & approval of shop drawings, material submissions, method statements etc. & evaluating the quality of work done at site.
d) Evaluation & certification of monthly progress payments and variations submitted by the contractor. Evaluate the contractor’s submissions and Prepare tender recommendation reports (Technical) for all provisional sum items.
e) Co-ordinate all MEP disciplines. Conduct MEP Co-ordination meeting with the Client and various contractors to discuss weekly progress and site issues.
f) Managing work load of my team of Engineers and Inspectors.
g) First point of contact for the Client, Consultants & Contractors for all MEP works related to the project.
h) Tracking progress of all aspects of MEP, security systems, Structured Cabling, PA/BGM system Installations.
i) Liaison with all relevant authorities and other infrastructure consultants on the Yas Island development for all utility supplies to the project.

i. Assessment and Evaluation of Consultants’ & Contractor’s works done and preparing recommendations for Client review.
ii. Prepared the Project Suspension Report & drafted the Project Close-Out report.
f) Other responsibilities as a Project Manager were to manage the implementation of the development’s Health, Safety & Environmental plan, Logistics plan & Project procedures, Facilitating a correct line of communication and efficient flow of information between all parties involved, Monitor implementation of the project QA/QC plan etc.

Execution of complete electrical works in construction of the residential building including obtaining approvals from the consultant of drawings & materials, coordinating with suppliers, purchasing all electrical materials, preparing variation claims, conducting regular inspections along with the consultant and final handing over inspection with consultant and client.
