As a KAUST founder, I have managed the Digital Media content team and function from start-up phase through to the development phase. My responsibilities are;

• Leading the content development of the KAUST website brand and acting as a guardian of the online brand.

• Shaping the online editorial agenda through the creation of high priority press releases and brand journalism features which promote the University’s brand values and were featured in Nature, RDMag and other global media channels.

• Setting the tone of voice and house style for digital content (e.g., copy, images, online video).

• Positioning and packaging content to grow site traffic, incorporating social media channels, SEO and Google Analytics.

• Management and development of brand’s Social Media channels and messaging through Meltwater Buzz.

• Content managing online media campaigns that promote the University’s research agenda including key messaging.

(e.g., Winter Enrichment Program 2010/2011/2012, Red Sea Expedition 2011, Seed Fund Winners 2011/2012).

• Consultant role for Professors' and Research Centers' web presence; advising on "best-in-class" content, producing content plans/reports and collaboration with proponents and IT department.

• Content managing KAUST website brand redesign projects; producing migration plans for CMS, planning content process, collaboration with Design Lead on site usability and University departments on site content.

• Writing and approving press releases, feature articles, editing and digital copywriting of site content.

• Managing and mentoring of Content Producers by developing their online skill base; also, managing contracted photographers.

• Coaching and mentoring of Saudi nationals in wider departmental and institutional contexts of Saudization program.

Responsibilities for all portal content, which included 3 main product sites and a community site. I was accountable for all published material in terms of brand, quality and production. My remit also included the production and performance of portal and email marketing campaign, content to drive and aid MANSION Marketing and Product teams. Further responsibilities included;

• Working closely with marketing and product managers to develop portal content to maximize customer conversion on-site and aid SEO; used Google Analytics to track marketing campaigns impact and customer engagement.

• Managing and administering SEO strategy & roadmap.

• Copywriting for site promotional campaigns, pop-ups and banners.

• Producing and delivery of the MANSION Lounge community site; implemented Joomla CMS & content managed new sections
(including video, blogs & SEO requirements).

• Managed Portal team: mentoring & developing team's skill base through appraisals, one-to-one meetings & individual pans, benefitting staff by developing them in line with their goals and future goals.

• UAT lead on Portal content projects & releases; collaborating with virtual IT teams in Singapore & Belarus.

Within this contract role as a Senior Web Editor, my main KPI objectives were to develop, manage and execute an online content strategy to meet the Local Authority's e-government targets. • Planning the content process; created a system for which online content was managed via "Stellent" CMS.

• Building strong proactive relationships with stakeholders across the organization to deliver content that was aligned with the core priorities and e-government objectives of the Local Authority.

• Conceptualizing of new sections, 'Stellant' CMS publishing, collaboration with internal stakeholders.

• Devised, coordinated & implemented usability & accessibility testing with user groups, including developing and executing a usability testing plan. Produced a report highlighting issues raised from the testing.

• Produced website style guide to ensure that all internal website publishers created "best-in-class" content.
