Procurement of Electrical & Instrumentation and mechanical packages required on New Build Jack up rigs supplied to the following clients:-
ENSCO PLC, USA.
National Drilling Company, Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Shelf Drilling.
Ensuring that PO’s are placed in complete compliance to the Lamprell Procurement Policies & Procedures.
Delegating work and managing a team of buyers responsible for electrical & instrumentation and mechanical procurement.
Monitoring budgets to ensure that significant savings, from budgets, are achieved during project close out.
Supporting proposals & sales team during the bidding stage by negotiating prices with vendors.
Coordinating with production, engineering & QA departments to ensure materials are received with least amount of discrepancies.

Job Responsibilities:-
1. Procurement of Electrical, Instrumentation, Piping and control system items for the integration of Oil & Gas metering and Produced water treatment Skids, being supplied to the following end users:-
- Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) & Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC), location Kuwait.
- Qatar Gas, location Qatar.
- Qatar Petroleum, location Qatar.
- Saudi Aramco, location Saudi Arabia.
- Maersk Oil, location Qatar.
- SABIC, location Saudi Arabia.
2. Awarding PO’s through techno commercial bid tabulation and intense negotiations.
3. Procuring all the materials on time and within budget, and achieving savings by regularly monitoring PO’s placed versus budgeted amount on every project.
4. Supporting proposals & sales during the bidding stage by negotiating prices with vendors.
5. Developing new & renewing annual rate agreements with manufacturers to improve savings & optimize lead time of material delivery.
6. Developing of new suppliers to increase competition & help achieve cost savings.

Engineering:
Operation and Electrical Maintenance of 330KV Gas Insulated Receiving station, and related switchgear station and 4 nos. 4MVA, 6.6 KV diesel emergency generators set for plant emergency power.
Preparation of Site Report & cost estimation for rehabilitation of 100MVA/ 33kV Static VAR compensation system, the components include Thyristors, harmonic filter banks, pilot computer, HV bushings & control circuitry.
Preparation of SLD for Power Grid loops from PHCN in Western Nigeria, and integrating it with SLD of DSC to analyze the load flow & power factor at the time of furnace operation.
Complete retro fitting of old analog energy meters to new digital energy meters in 330 kV GIS metering section.
Analysis of calculations of KW HR, Maximum Demand, and Power Factor billed by PHCN (Power Holding Company of Nigeria) to Delta Steel Company”, Nigeria, etc.
Procurement:
Cost estimation for rehabilitation of 150 MVA transformer burnt middle phase bus bar, in 330 kV GIS.
Complete Cost estimation & Scope of work finalization of retrofitting of CONTACTOR logic based control system of EAF- 1 to automated state of the art SIEMENS S-7 PLC.
Looked after Project Procurement in DSC PLC, coordinating with procurement agencies in India & China.
Contributed to CAPEX & OPEX preparation for increasing the manufacturing capacity of DSC to 2 MTPA, by analyzing setbacks in existing of load distribution across Electric Arc Furnaces & rolling mill.
Successfully completed and implemented a project study on “Streamlining of the Procurement process in central procurement department” of Delta Steel Company.
Responsible for designing Service Contracts for Electrical, Mechanical, Fabrication & Erection.
Designing of contract terms & clauses as per the requirement of the Purchase Order, like variable priced contracts, Annual Rate contracts \[ARC\], Annual Maintenance Contracts \[AMC\], designing of Letter Of Intent \[LOI\] in cases of emergency & unavailability of Purchase Order.
Achieved 20% saving by converting hourly based contracts to TONNAGE based contracts for material transport.
Monitored & planned L/C’s along with advance payment through wire transfer for imported items.
Finalized Service Level Agreements and Purchase Orders, as per the company policy.
Successfully finalized the contract for Re- Export and Re-Import for “Regrinding of Caster Pendulum Shear Knife” to Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Finalized the scope of work for a 140 MVA transformer repair, along with spares required for rehabilitation.
Finalized a contract for the “Reeling of Waste Power Cables lying in the Plant”.
Total buying volume of finalized purchase orders made my service tenure, amounted to Rs. 74, 292, 277.60/-. (Data as per SAP PRD MM, for the SAP BUYER ID- SE2, Snehil Pillay).
Finalised Annual Rate Contract (ARC) for structural Erection contracts for the year 2009- 2010.
Finalised ARC for rewinding of LT Motors throughout the plant for the year 2009- 2010.
Contract for Online & offline testing of HT Motors throughout the plant, to achieve a high savings of 42%.
Key Highlights:
Assisted the Head Maintenance Engineer in maintaining logs for shift workers, marketing the finished products to different consumers, monitoring the power factor, consumption units etc at the control desk.
Procurement of steel items required for Fabrication & Errection activities, making contracts for the repair of induction motors.
