•As a section leader for instrumentation activities in Gas loop-1 & 2 ( 9 units ) having oxygen separation unit, Auto thermal reforming units, Wax treatment, Heavy ends recovery section, catalyst purification, process water treatment plant, having team of 20 permanent and semi-permanent technicians, Qatari national Developee technicians and graduate engineer trainees.
•Acting as a Head of E&I which includes Electrical, Instrumentation, Analyser and control systems, having 45 team members ( 3 control system engineers, 5 E&I section supervisor, 22 E&I senior technicians, 15 Semi permanent contract E&I technicians and Qatari Developee and trainees), during heads special assignments as well as leave period.
Current Job Accountabilities:
Safety, Health, Quality, Environment:
•Ensuring compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls, within a defined area, to guarantee employee safety, HR compliance, and delivery of high quality products / services in a responsible environmental manner.
•Performing Emergency Response Role as required by company.
•Participating in company safety programs
Maintenance Strategy :
•As a senior member of the Instrumentation section, contributing to the formulation and implementation of the Maintenance strategy and plans, to maximize the plant equipment availability and minimize equipment breakdown.
•Assessment & understanding Safety Instrumented Functions ( SIFs) & Safety Integrity loops.
Section Management:
•Supporting the Instrumentation Supervisors in their day-to-day activities by providing Engineering solutions to problems and to ensuring that work processes are implemented as per standards and procedures.
Shutdowns and Turnarounds
•Assisting in managing the planning, organization and implementation of ORYX GTL’s shutdowns, turnarounds and emergencies as required.
•Taking the role as a “Project / Zone Leader” during major / emergency shutdowns as required.
Plant Maintenance:
•Managing, controlling and troubleshooting of problems as required, in order to avoid major escalations at any given instance.
•Assisting in managing the Instrumentation maintenance works on ORYX GTL’s assets as required ensuring minimum disruptions with regard to equipment breakdowns.
•Assisting in all Instrumentation Equipment inspections and equipment SIL tests are done in line with the Maintenance Strategies.
•Assisting and supporting the predictive maintenance initiative, supporting the condition monitoring section in analysis of data and improvement of MTBF.
Integrity of Instrumentation Equipment
•Assisting in managing the availability of necessary Materials, Spares and External Services in order to execute tasks in an effective manner.
•Assisting to supervisors in finding out alternative materials for obsolete spare parts.
•Executing reliability improvement projects within approved budget. Ensure all the Gate procedures in CAPEX route are followed and complied with.
•Managing the running of RCA and FMEA work groups.
Management Reporting & Ad-hoc Project Representation.
•Support on demand Instrumentation Maintenance related initiatives in order to ensure various ad-hoc requirements foreseen by ORYX GTL are met.
•Providing technical advice to management on new / old projects on selection of new / old equipment, layout of the equipment and maintainability of equipment in order to ensure management remains abreast with related departmental functions / works.
People Management
•Assisting in ensuring that potential vacancies are appropriately occupied by potential Qatari nationals, where possible, so as to adhere to stipulated Qatarisation targets.

•Contribution to the development and implementation of department policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of the rotating equipment department.
