Performs the General Manager’s position for all Departments of the Division (Sales, Parts, Service, Accounts, Administration, Machinery and Equipment).
• Develops a strategic business plan for the progress of these Departments and present annual budgets detailing the performance for each of them.
• Carry’s out Quarterly appraisals of Managers. Also, monitors, oversees, and reviews appraisals for all other staff, prepared by respective Department Heads.
• Prepares and provides a complete comprehensive organizational chart for the division and fulfills the requirements with professional well-trained staff.
• Continuously improves the efficiency and performance of the divisional staff through up-to-date training with continued guidance and monitoring.
• Develops a comprehensive and detailed advertising plan and follows up regularly, whether through media firms or directly.
• Follows up with Department Managers for daily business activities concerning their operations and ensure smooth work flow in these Departments.
• Monitors and supervises the performance of these Departments on a regular basis and report on a monthly basis the progress of these Departments in comparison to their budgets.
• Protects the interest of the division, maintains the confidentiality and safeguards the image of the business in all aspect of its operations.
• Facilitates weekly meetings with department managers to evaluate operational progress and improvement.
• To manage the Maintenance and general upkeep of all terminal equipment(RS, SC, TR, TT, FL, BUSES, CARS), both prime movers as well as all supporting equipment, through a structured and proactive approach to :
o Planned Preventive Maintenance.
o Breakdown Repairs.
o Time Based Rehabilitation (Overhaul Program).
o Accident Damage.
• Develop and maintain a full Technical Asset Management data base.
• To ensure parts and materials required for planned Maintenance and repair are available, stored and utilized in an appropriate and efficient manner.
• Control of purchasing and expenditure, with a view to cost savings but without compromise to safety or operational efficiency.
• Minimize cash transactions / maximize credit facilities with local suppliers.
• Manage manpower within the Technical Department, with a view to quality of workmanship, resource / manning levels and staff development where required.
• Control all records regarding expenditure and inventory / stock availability - SAP PM / MM.
• Assist the Operations department with regards to Technical matters pertaining to the Reefer management and electrical power support.
• Provide the Project General Manager recommendations pertaining to asset replacement and procurement, in order to manager the asset base in an efficient and responsible manner.
• Provide detailed technical and financial reports as requested.
