Various positions were held following a successful apprenticeship as an advanced pipe fitter
welder. Several years were spent on site on the installation of services and commissioning of large industrial and commercial sites such as Hospitals, Schools, Colleges and retail
outlets. During the time spent on sites a position of Foreman was taken for sections of some
large installations.

An opportunity arose to take up a position within the estimating department at our
Manchester office. The work included the development of a newly installed estimating
package and the building of the relevant databases.

Having spent 3 years in the estimating department, the position of assistant to the labour
Manager was taken. The duties included all day to day liasing with the site staff, control of site staff, control of training and the general coordination and movement of personnel.

Following changes within the organisation a position of Project Engineer was taken which
then lead to Project management (7 years in total) . The duties included all elements of estimating and cost control, labour management, control of sub contractors, purchasing and
procurement of materials and plant, site liaison and progress meetings.
