Engaged by a Middle Eastern based conglomerate (Retail, food & beverage, technology) to deliver value creation through a procurement turnaround and change management programme. Provided leadership and delivered a value-adding procurement and supply chain function to support business strategy, secure value for money, enable strong supplier management, compliance and risk management. Achievements included:

- Re-designed and delivered a supply chain and procurement function aligned to group strategy; developed and embedded procurement governance, supplier and category management processes and strategies.

- Delivered significant supply chain improvements and developed procurement as a key competitive capability.

- Developed and delivered supply chain and logistics make or buy business strategies for 3PL, warehousing and distribution network design; supplier alliances, cost optimisation and risk mitigation.

- Delivered 10 to 20% in annualised cost savings across multi-spend direct and indirect categories.

Defined and executed outsourced procurement and supply chain strategies across £120M of multi-category spend on behalf of global FMCG, beverage and pharmaceutical business partners. Achievements included:

- Led the development of regional procurement category strategies and supply chain implementation plans to deliver cost savings, business growth, process efficiency, supplier management, quality and innovation.

- Developed market extensions, upsell and retention business opportunities for new and existing clients.

- Led and motivated a category team of 6 direct reports, driving engagement and overall strategy alignment.

Promoted to lead, transform and execute procurement and category strategies across €480M of outsourced multi-category spend on behalf of global FMCG and beverage business partners. Achievements included:

- Built and motivated a high performing European strategic sourcing team of 8 direct reports, with best practice capabilities, to deliver procurement and supply chain services across 32 markets, whilst influencing global strategies for effective implementation at European and local market level.
- Implemented a category management operating framework across procurement, driving commercial, quality and innovation process excellence that enhanced procurement’s influence across the organisation.
- Delivered 20% productivity improvements through procurement process redesign and technology adoption.
- Implemented multi-million category strategies and innovation programmes to optimise cost savings and business growth opportunities whilst deploying new technologies, products and suppliers.
- Transformed supplier relationships to deliver long term value, reduce cost, improve efficiency, flexibility, quality, mitigate risks and deliver on collaborative supplier innovation and sustainability programs.
- Developed global synergies and established upstream raw material sourcing programs and commercial agreements that delivered a competitive market position and assured supply.

Promoted to drive procurement and category management transformation across HAVI by leading a global strategic change initiative across US$ 2bn of outsourced global multi-category spend. Achievements included:

- Led an international cross-functional team to transform a procurement operation to a cross region Centre of Excellence, delivering a technology-enabled, value-adding procurement function with global category management team structures supporting business strategy, leveraging scale to secure commercial value, build strong supplier relationships, whilst ensuring compliance and risk mitigation, globally.
- Led the restructure of an Australian based supply chain team - a change initiative that delivered outstanding value-add for HAVI’s clients and enhanced the local team’s influence and credibility across the organisation.

Promoted to develop and drive the regional commercial vision and lead the delivery of outsourced procurement, logistics and supply chain services to maximise commercial value for global FMCG and beverage business partners across 18 Middle Eastern and African markets. Achievements included:

- Established a Dubai-based business unit to provide end to end commercial services to drive business, profitability and working capital management through effective procurement and supply chain solutions.
- Grew sustainable, trusted client relationships and increased customer retention, and revenue growth opportunities through innovation, market development and customer engagement strategies.
- Led client engagements and cross-functional teams to deliver supply chain network optimisation projects.
- Developed and delivered multi-million regional category and procurement cost reduction strategies.
- Created regional supply base networks across the Middle East and South Africa in addition to joint venture partnerships to reduce cost, mitigate risk, share best practice and support regional innovation requirements.
