Project includes Road works, Sewer Networks, Storm water Networks, Potable and Process water works, Ground Water works, Irrigation works, Street lighting works & Electrical works, Telecom works Etc. The detailed scope of work as follows. Earth works including, site clearance, grubbing, excavations, cutting, filling, compaction, grading, removal of existing surcharge. Roads both Permanent and temporary including junctions, roundabout, associated earth works, kerbing, footpath, signage, safety barriers. Electrical works for the 11kV, Duct work, 11kV & LV Cabling and ducting, feeder pillars, substations, with transformers. Street light works including poles, lights, cables and control cabinets and all associated works. Telecommunication works covering the infrastructure, draw pits and 9way ducting for future use by Telecoms. All Underground structures for utilities, pumping stations, Electrical facilities, storage & discharge facilities, Valve pits & manholes. Potable & Fire fighting networks & Process Water including supply & installation of pipe lines associated earthworks and concrete works, ducting, tie-in to the primary network and testing and commissioning. Combined Waste Water including supply & installation of pipe lines, pump stations associated earthworks and concrete works, ducting, tie-in to the primary network and testing and commissioning. Storm Water and ground water drainage system including the construction of open lined storm water channels, ground water drainage pipe lines associated earthworks and concrete works, pumping stations, tie-in to the primary network.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. To check all Material Approvals of Construction material which used in projects submits to Consultant and follows up the Material Approvals.
2. Develop written procedures for Quality control / Quality Assurance, Method Statement and Inspection Test Plan.
3. Perform need tests on site and in the laboratory to ensure conformity of material and works according to the contract specification.
4. Ensure that construction activities comply with works specifications. If any noncompliance then issue Non Compliance Report to concern site in charge.
5. Submit the proposed corrective action and proposed resolution to closed the Noncompliance or QAN (Quality Action Notice) issued by Client or Consultant.
6. Conduct the Internal Audit of Subcontractor and Material Supplier as per Internal Audit Program.
7. Conduct the trainee for Laboratory technician and trainee of Rework Elimination Action.
8. Produces laboratory trial batches of Concrete Mix
9. Observes the batch plant operations.
10. To control laboratory team & guide them to execute the laboratory job such as material test, site field density test, material inspection at site store, etc.
11. To follow up the all request form and checking with consultant at site and take approval of execute activity.
1. Testing Witnessing and Supervision of all Laboratory related works.
2. Check on daily basis Quality Control Tests on materials.
3. Responsible for Testing of samples carried out in the Laboratory as per International Standards.
4. Involve in all Testing and reporting activities on Departments.
5. Evaluation and Interpretation of related section of the ASTM, BS, ACI, General and Special Specifications of Projects.
6. Overall responsible for coordinating with the Client, Consultant, Contactor and Central Laboratory regarding testing activities.
7. Checking and Verification of testing activities as well as of the Test reports.
8. Notify the Consultant and the Contractor regarding any deviations in the test results with respect to the Project Specifications / International Standards.
9. Schedule the Daily activities of the site Laboratory according to request received.
10. Verify the activities of the Assistant technicians while performing the test and initial the worksheet.
11. Responsible for the In-house Calibration of the Equipment’s used for the Testing and Submit the records of the QC Department
12. Responsible for maintenance of International Standards like AASHTO, ASTM etc related to construction materials.
13. Ensure that all the samples submitted for testing have been tested adequately as per the Standard Test methods.
14. Ensure that all safety measures are taken during Testing.
Knowledge in Material Testing
Cement testing
Consistence of cement, Initial & final setting time, Soundness of cement, Specific surface of cement, Heat of hydration, Compressive & flexural strength of grout mortar prism, Pozzolonic activity index
Concrete testing
Fresh Concrete analysis including slump, temp, density, bleeding, setting time, air content etc.
Concrete cube sampling, Compressive Strength for concrete, Rapid Chloride Permeability (RCP), Initial Surface Absorption Test (ISAT), Water Absorption and Water Permeability, Compressive strength of cubes, cylinders & cores, Conducting Lab and Plant Trial mix of Concrete.
Aggregate testing
Sieve Analysis, Soundness, Flakiness & Elongation Index, Los Angeles Abrasion, Specific Gravity, Water Absorption of Coarse and Fine Aggregates
Soil testing
Soil classification test including sieve Analysis, Liquid Limit, Plastic Limit, Specific Gravity, etc.
Test related to compaction characteristics like MDD/ OMC, CBR etc. In Situ test
Asphalt testing
Field verification and quality control of asphalt work with respect to sampling, laying, etc.
Various testing of bituminous mixtures including void age content, Marshall Stability, Flow, Stiffness, Ignition, Extraction, Marshall preparation, Gmm etc.
B. Tech (Chemical Engineering) from Anna University, Chennai, Tamilnadu, India. In 2013 Projects Undertaken:- Production of Titanium dioxide and Design of condenser (final year engineering project)
Diploma (Petro Chemical engineering) from Board of Technical Education. Tamilnadu, India in 2007. Projects Undertaken :- Manufacture of Silica from Rice husk
