• Failure Investigation on various components & equipments from the Marine, Oil & Gas refineries and other Engineering Industries to determine the causes and to give remedies. This involved the preparation of detailed reports with technical findings & evidences, discussion, conclusion, recommendation and photographic documentation. • Carry out Metallurgical Examination to understand the inherent microstructure as well as defects or abnormalities present in the material. It also included the determination of ASTM grain size, Degree of banding, Nitriding depth, Case hardening depth, Inclusion count, manual count for ferrite content etc.
• Monitoring Corrosion Tests on various material coupons as per NACE specification and codes to determine the susceptibility of material to corrosion in various service conditions. The test includes Sulphide Stress Cracking test as per NACE TM 0177,

Intergranular Cracking (IGC) as per ASTM A262 (Methods A, B, C, E & F), Hydrogen Induced Cracking (HIC) as per NACE TM 0284.
• Monitoring Mechanical tests for various metallic materials for material confirmation and welded coupons for Welding Procedure Qualification and Welder Qualification as per various codes such as ASTM, BS, API ASME and other Classification Codes (LRS, BV, DNV, etc.). The tests include Tensile test, Charpy Impact Test, Hardness (Field and In-house) test, Nick- Break test, Fracture Test, Flattening Test, Flaring Test, Load test.
• Monitoring In-situ Replica Metallography on Tubes, Pipes, shell plate and other equipments of Marine, Oil and Gas Refineries and on Engineering components and equipments to find out the microstructural changes and to assess metallurgical conditions of the equipment. Prepare detailed reports with Micrographs, Microstructure Description, and Discussion with Interpretation, Results and Conclusion.
TESTING SKILLS
• Exposed towards various Metallographic testing like Phase Analysis, Grain Size Measurement, Inclusion rating, Case Depth Measurement and Determination of Banding and Decarburization by using Optical Microscope with Image Analyser.
• Exposed towards various Mechanical Testing equipments like Hardness testers (Brinell, Rockwel and Vickers), Ultimate Tensile Testing machine, Impact Testing Machine and Jominy Hardenabilty Testing Equipment.
• Non Destructive Testing’s Like Visual Testing, Liquid Penetrant Testing, Magnetic Particle Inspection and Ultrasonic Inspection.
• Knowledge in Spectrometer for checking Chemical Composition.
• Using Various Standards like ASTM, IS, GOST and DIN
R&D OF NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
• Review of customer requirements with regards to heat treatment processes, mechanical and metallurgical properties of New / Existing product.
• Metallurgical investigation on In-house quality problems, Customer complaints and Field failures.
QUALITY CONTROL
• Responsible for the control of Heat treatment processes such as Annealing, Normalising, Hardening, Tempering, Stress Relieving and other related operating machines.
• Plan and Monitored the Layout Inspection of the product.
• Determine the Induction hardening parameters for various jobs and gives the Quality.
• Vendor development and conducting scheduled vendor audit to conform raw materials, process and quality procedures were as per the requirement.

OTHER WORKS
• Review and maintain testing records on daily basis.
• Preparation of raw material and product test certificate.
• Maintain traceability of material (Sample) and related records.
• To Schedule and Maintain calibration of testing equipments on regular frequency and recorded.
