In recent years it has become increasingly recognised that the design and operation of buildings need to take greater account of energy consumption. This is reflected in the Building Regulations in the UK and other countries in Europe with the implementation of the EU Directive on the Energy Performance of Buildings since 2006. This course combines building services engineering knowledge with the addition of specific energy consideration in their design. Building Services Engineering courses awarded the Happold Brilliant Award for teaching excellence by the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers.
