During master’s I worked on commercial forestry and its relation to general environment. I utilized my knowledge on forestry and compared carbon stock in the exploited and protected forests of Pakistan. The comparison of two forests was made and found that protected forests sequestered 50% more carbon per unit hectare than the commercially exploited forests. The qualitative methodology was adopted through field inventories for detail analysis of forest stock even in those areas where satellite data may be biased. Tree and Soil samples were investigated in the laboratory by Walkley and Black Method for carbon content and correlated with the density to estimate total carbon content in the forest using statistical designs. Also, solid waste management plan was made for 52 union councils in rural area of Abbottabad with community participation as an assignment to reduce domestic waste at sources through categorization and awareness.

During my bachelor’s studies, I made Sustainable Plan for the Conservation of Forest Resources by providing an ideal Resource Utilization Strategy for the period of 100 years with recycling phase of 25 years depending on the age of parent tree (Deodar) to subsequently fulfil the livelihood needs of the community with effective regeneration plan and resource conservation. Deodar tree is the ecosystem indicator in the temperate zone and a cash crop as well for the inhabitants; therefore, I provided a comprehensive plan with conservation and secure regeneration of the deodar and distributed the livelihood dependency on the conventional and non-conventional sources to release the pressure on single to avoid overexploitation. I have also presented the model in the Naitonal Conference on Ecology in Karachi in 2008
