Leading the finance function in Kuwait and managing 20 professionals and 3 financial entities (Talabat KWT, Carriage KWT, DH Kitchens KWT) covering the daily financial business needs, controlling and enhancing financial operations and reporting the monthly performance to the country MD in addition to providing recommendations for enhancing the financial health of the company.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met.
- Controlling the financial reporting and ensuring it's maintained in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Analyzing sales, costs and the company’s actual performance compared to the budgeted business plans and reporting variances with explanations to the country Managing Director.
- Conduct reviews and evaluations and provide recommendations for cost-reduction opportunities.
- Liaise with internal auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of processes and procedures is maintained.
- Preparing the annual financial statements and liaise with external auditors to ensure smooth auditing of quarterly and annual FS is performed
- Analyzing and evaluating the daily operation for automation opportunities to enhance the accuracy, efficiency and speed of daily tasks performance.
- Managing the Revenue cycle & GL, performing the required reconciliations and prepare the monthly report for the management.
- Handling the financial communication with the key partners (KFG, Shaya'a group, Americana, ..etc) for any disputes or financial reporting support
- Setting the collection plan for the AR balances to maintain a healthy financial position
- Enhancing and testing the financial tools in collaboration with the tech team to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the daily financial work
- Managing the full accounting cycle (AR, AP & GL) through daily entries bookkeeping, performing GL reconciliations and reporting the monthly financial performance to the top management.
- Preparing the annual financial statements and support the annual external audit to issue the FS
Conducting external auditing through the evaluation and assessment of the annual financial statement preparation and ensuring the preparation is done in accordance with the IFRS in addition to reporting any errors, fraud or non-compliance, providing feedback on the findings and solutions to overcome the current situation
Bachelor degree in economics with focus major in accounting and auditing
