o Test, commission and solve problems related to the installation, operation and functioning of Telecommunication Equipment, such as SDH, DVM, MDF, DDF, optical Boosters, Media Converters, LAN/WAN panel, etc.
o Testing and commissioning Protection Signaling Equipment (PSE), ABB NSD570, Siemens SWT 3000, Areva DIP 5000.
o Testing and Commissioning Substation Automation System (SAS).
o Testing and Commissioning Fiber optics cables (OPGW, ADSS & NMFOC) using both OTDR and Power meters.
o Revise the job done by contractor and compare it to the project technical specification (PTS), Detailed Technical Submittal (DTS) and see if any deviation is committed and rectify it, in term of civil, mechanical or electrical that relates to the telecommunication scope.
o Installing, laying and terminating FOC cables between GIS BCU’s IED, protection relays, AMR, interface panels, AVR relays and SAS switches and servers.
o Installing SAS servers, which includes Gateway, HMI, Engineering, Operator and GPS server.

o Designing and Installing the Premises Distribution system PDS for the substation which includes the data nodes and telephone nodes.
o Managing Remote ends sites activities for PSE’s and communication.
o Managing the activities related to the Substation Automation System (SAS) and insure that all signals attached in the MDCL are correct and are connected to the respected destination.
o Insure that the relays’ connectivity to SAS and PSE is done appropriately in term of Fiber optics, UTP, RS232, RS485 and G.703.
o Provide dark fiber to the differential relays as a secondary channel to the remote ends.
o Test and commission the installation of Fiber optic cables (FOC) within the substation buildings.
o Revise Module Data Checklist (MDCL).
With the responsibility to design, install and troubleshoot a huge telecommunication network spread all over the Sudan, includes the following tasks:
1- Troubleshoot, administrate and maintain the company L2/L3 enterprise network which consists of more than 100 L2/L3 Cisco and Huawei switches and routers. Technologies such as VLANs, QoS and routing protocols especially OSPF are implemented in the corporate network.
2- Designing, installing, maintaining and troubleshooting the electricity prepayment system networks.
3- Supervise the Fiber Optic cables & microwave links which connect the company branches to the HQ to insure availability & stability 24/7. This includes the basic troubleshooting for the SDH system.
4- Provides full support to third party companies that sell Electricity on behalf SEDC.
5- Designing, installing, maintaining and troubleshooting VOIP, GIS and Call Center networks.
6- Participate with the section head engineer in designing new IT infrastructures and expanding the current network topology.
7- maintain hardware and software, troubleshooting, Installing many operating system and software programs for clients.
8- Administrating Linux servers farm including Mail Servers, Proxy server, DNS server and Log server.

My project was about integration of telecommunication networks and GIS systems. I implemented a study to link the distance and bandwidth received by ADSL and ISDN for a specific customer. The project was implemented in Sudatel group of companies.
