*Ensure that financial planning and forecasting is proper, cost effective and in line with SC and donor guidelines, including Country Annual Plans and Budgets for the grant and
contract proposals.
* Ensure that Senior Management and Project Managers receive timely and accurate
financial analysis for taking appropriate corrective measures.
* Ensure that Program Managers and other key stakeholders are trained on financial
management; further ensure that they are aware of grant compliance requirements of
respective grants by designing and implementing user friendly compliance tools.
* Responsible for review of all grant and sub-grant agreements to ensure that conditions
are acceptable, practical and in line with guidelines.
* Responsible to operate a proper partnership management system in coordination with
Partnership Development Department.
* Ensure availability of sufficient funds for all grants by requesting funds transfer from
donors and tracking grant debts.
* Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to donors & HQ on specific formats and
responsible to carry financial correspondence with donors, SC members and partners and
HQ about grant related matters.
* Consolidate and finalize the monthly accounts.
* Maintain appropriate level of funds in the bank accounts in USD & PKR as per the
operational requirements of the project.
* Support Director Finance in Realignment of yearly project budget
Support to Partner organisation & Field office teams
* Conduct targeted risk assessments of sub-grant programs and make recommendations for
assistance and/or corrective actions.
* Capacity assessment of Sub-recipients during selection process of the grant.
* Support program in selecting more efficient partner/SR.
* Review of quarterly financial reports from sub-recipients and support team to compile
them for submission, ensuring quality;
* Ensure that all donor reports and reporting materials are appropriately filed in up-to-date,
clean, consistent soft and hard libraries available.
* Support SRs in finalization of their budgets and in building their capacity for efficient
financial management.
* Develop and implement training package for all sub-recipients in the requesting fund
disbursements.
* Ensure timely disbursement of funds to partners/SRs and others concerned.
* Keep track of quarterly installments made to partners and ensure all required reports are
received before disbursing the funds.
* Maintain respectful and effective communications and relationships with partner
organization.
Capacity Building:
* Identify staff training needs to increase their capacity to maintain and improve financial
reporting and fiscal management as per Global fund requirements.
* Capacity building and orientation workshops for all sub-recipients in grant and financial
management on semiannual basis.
* Visit SRs and conduct trainings in grant compliance for relevant staff.
Audit
* Supervise the protection of the organization's assets through adherence of internal
controls and auditing procedures.
* Facilitate external auditors for annual audit of PR and SRs
* Timely responses to auditors in the finalization of verification and audits.

*Implement and administer Mercy Corps systems for internal control, compliance, and
financial reporting functions in accordance with donor regulations.
* Monthly review of partner’s financial statements and provide recommendations to
partners from time to time.
* Ensure compliance with Mercy Corps and donor policies and procedures for all good
and services during the financial review at various stages of Purchase Request,
Purchase Order, and processing of the payment request.
* Jointly prepare monthly management reports including expenditures by /projects
(pipelines), partners reporting, as well as other financial information and provide to
Director Finance in the timely and accurate manner.
* Responsible for the completion of End of Year procedures as per HQ requirements.
* Prepare Cash flow for all projects and supervise the fund flow to sub grantees/IPs/SRs
and Field Offices.
* Closely monitor IPs/SRs advances and timely liquidations and recording.
* Contract management to ensure that firms/consultants are performing in accordance
with the terms and conditions of the grant agreements.
* On-site visits to IPs and staff training on the MC and donor regulations and providing
technical assistance. To support IPs and Sub-Recipients in preparing budgets for
respective budgets and consolidation before submitting to donors.
* Conduct meetings with the respective project managers/officers in order to provide
grant management support and to prevent overspending or under spending.
* Supervise finance officer for Liquidation of Project Advances and follow up for
liquidation
* Train Mercy Corps staff in areas of contract, financial management and procurement
of goods and services.
* Maintain a proper filing system for all relevant projects and making it ready for the
donors mission review.
* Coordination with external auditors for smooth issuance of the audit reports.

Worked as Financial Analyst in the Specialist Advisory Services of Grant Thornton (GT)
Pakistan - Islamabad after completing four years of article ship. During my stay at AASR,
gained well-diversified experience in the field of auditing, Specialist Advisory Services and
taxation. Worked on special assignments of the World Bank, Technical Assistance
Management Agency TAMA, Futures Group, Research Triangle Institute (RTI), USAID,

B. ASSURANCE & AUDIT
Performed various audits for wide spectrum of organizations which involved understanding, development and extensive review of accounting and related internal control systems with multiple objectives of developing strategic audit plans, designing audit programs, performing detailed fieldwork and finalization of audit involving reporting to the manager and Partner. Proficient in using GTI Software for test of controls (auditCARE), for planning and execution of audits (GT Explorer).

NGOs audits conducted including reviews of Accounting and Internal Control System. Delegated work to the subordinate audit staff and supervision to audit team members. Prepared management letters, draft audit reports and financial statements of completed jobs for Senior Manager and Partner’s review.

C. TAXATION SERVICES AND CONSULTANCY
While working in the Tax Department of AASR for six months, gained experience on various tax matters particularly with respect to the withholding of tax.
• Preparation and filing of income tax returns both for Corporate and individual clients.
• Finalization of assessments, undertaking representations, objections & appeals.
• Obtaining exemptions for the clients.
• Preparing and filling various monthly, quarterly and annual statements with the tax authorities.
