• Direct the overall supply chain management activities of material supplies and related consumables procurement from suppliers and service providers worth more than SR 2.2 Billion and logistics services of almost SR 150 million annually throughout ALJ Service Centres and Dealers network in Saudi Arabia in the most effective and efficient manner based on KPIs and Service Level Agreement.
• Manage overall cost below 3.37 % OPEX/sales ratio (best in the industry) of supply chain management activities including 2 warehouses (of 40, 000 and 20, 000 sq m) on 3PL operations for in- and out-bound (air, sea freight and land transports) management supporting more than 300 distribution centres with total stock holding of SAR 630 M with service fill rate of 98 % and stock month of 2.8.
• Lead out-sourced team of 350 associates on warehouse and logistics operations supported by 200 fleet of 3PL trucking services with strong focus on productivity, quality, safety and cost aspects through Toyota’s continuous improvement (Kaizen) processes.
• Continuously challenge, develop, design and implement new operational processes/optimization based on customers’ service logistics requirements from concept, feasibility study, systems and financial details with external consultant for SCM 2020 and 3/4PL services (within ALJ group).
• Direct the implementation of 4 new local distribution centres (size of 5, 000 - 10, 000 sqm) in the next 4 years with real-estate team to support future growth of ALJ Parts business. This includes feasibility study, preparing RFQ for land acquisition, building construction, materials and CAPEX (IT, electro-mechanical, service equipment, office furniture, etc) overall project procurements and management with 3PL warehouse manpower and transportation/logistics services until full commissioning and mobilization of each distribution center.
• Spearheaded the activities related to the formation of joint-venture companies, shareholders agreement, business licenses, company acquisition, recruitment and other related start up business activities.
• Developed and achieved ISO 9001 certification for the marketing and sales and after-sales of Car Navigation Systems through comprehensive Project Management work with team members.
• Designed and developed sales/after-sales network by appointing authorized dealers and retail support center, training, certification of technician and seal dealership agreement to support the business.
• Procured materials and equipment for setting up digital mapping data production from data collection, digitizing and conversion and development of car navigation systems software and hardware, negotiate terms and agreements with technology partners, vendors, dealers and potential users.
• Negotiated terms and conditions, coordinated development activities and monitored business progress based on project management schedule of delivery with manufacturers, technical vendors and partners and customers for the delivery of final products.
• Set up in-house system to support business operations including commercial centre (goods importation, warehousing, distribution for bulk and emergency), call center management, order processing, supply, invoicing, payment collection, after-sales support, warranty and customer service department.
• Developed support system from identifying product and model listing, parts and components development, parts cataloguing, inventory and purchasing system, 3PL logistics support, distribution system and other supply chain activities to ensure the achievement of KPIs as set by Management.
• Managed procurement and supply of parts, accessories, lubricants and other materials for the smooth operations of Volvo dealerships in Malaysia through the establishment of structured distribution and logistics systems.
• Coordinated the supply of material and equipment from Volvo Car Corporation in Sweden and other sourced-countries to achieve agreed Service Level Agreement and KPIs as stipulated with principal, service providers, Freight Forwarder, dealers and customers.
• Implemented four Lean Six Sigma projects within 6 months period to increase efficiency and effectiveness through reduction of delivery lead time and idle time at workshop level, lower operating cost without sacrificing service quality.
• Consistently exceeded 95 % overall customer satisfaction level through immediate resolution of customers’ feedback and turning complaint into a favorable one. Achieved 2.0 stock month level with 94 % service fill rate through continuous review and improvement of inventory level at central warehouse and dealers.
• Coordinated procurement activities at plant level with multi vendors to ensure the production roll out and models were delivered as per Business Plan including production units, new models development, special edition, etc.
• Provided leadership to achieve Key Performance Indicators, including sales target, service level, Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI), business performance improvement, operational efficiency and effectiveness and development of Divisional long-term business plans.
• Managed the procurement activities of automotive spare-parts, workshop and building equipment, lubricants, tyres and other material, manage project management for new branches set up from location identification, deployment of equipment, staffing, training, monitoring, and providing direction and guidance to successfully achieve the business objective and sales target.
• Developed strategic management planning through continuously review of performance against competitors so as to achieve greater market share and sales target through consultation with principal, vendors, dealers and branch personnel and market performance.
• Developed continuous improvement in the area of delivery cost and lead time reduction and service level whilst minimize stock holding in the central warehouse.
• Trained and motivated 150 staff in the HQ and 38 branch offices nationwide through regular visits and constant communication with the Branch key personnel.
• Provided direction on distributed warehouse operations of 80 people according to ISO 9001 certified operating procedures to ensure smooth receipt and supply of stock to wholesales, branches and dealers throughout Malaysia.
• Managed the logistics and supply role through the most economical method covering land, sea and air transportation with annual stock value of RM 200 million with total manpower of 180 personnel.
• Led the migration of legacy to SAP system for Parts Division in Year 2000 through excellent project management skills with vendors, contractors and in-house IT members and effective change management process for the staff.
• Assisted Divisional Manager on the planning of logistics and procurement of central distribution centre of Toyota parts, accessories and lubricants in Malaysia.
• Analyzed, planned and implemented improvements on business and management systems on operations, delivery system, IT support, central warehouse, sales management (personnel, wholesalers and dealers) and branches operations throughout Malaysia.
• Achieved lean stock level of 8 times stock turnover with 93 % parts availability and 4 times stock turnover with 95 % availability at Branches and Central Warehouse operations, respectively through effective inventory management systems which practice Just-in-time Delivery system and annual stock disposal exercise.
• Achieved exceeded sales target consistently with smooth supply of stock and stringent inventory control based on the company's guidelines and strong support from mostly motivated staff.
• Carried out market survey, analyzed results and provided recommendation/advice to Parts Division’s Management team on the business direction and improvement based on the market trend, consumers’ demand and operational requirements.
• Developed new business on Toyota Genuine Motor Oil and automotive accessories distribution, not only for Malaysia market but for export to neighbouring countries.
• Led as project manager for all major Divisional projects especially on IT and logistics improvement such as SERVICOMP systems, TOPAS (Toyota Parts Automation Systems) migration, Warehouse Layout Redesign, New Product Development, New Business Development, etc.
