•• Management of health information/informatics and record to ensure content compliance, and availability for patient care, research, and administrative purposes in accordance with HIM standards.
•• Analytical skills to collect information from diverse sources apply professional principles in performing various analysis and summarize the information and data in order to solve problems or design relatively complex systems and programs. Maintain chart pull lists for the Day Care/ Out Patient unit.
•• Oral communication skills in order to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and to mediate fair solutions. Written communication skills to propagate information to pharmacy personnel and other healthcare professionals on medications, patient care and organizational issues. Retrieves and transfers patient records from health records to the Out Patient Unit, Day Care Unit. Clinical Trials, Radiation Therapy, Cancer Registry, Radiation Oncology etc.
•• Perform chart management back-up duties for absence in other areas as required.
•• Responsible for providing a variety of clerical and receptionist functions, complaint with established Alberta heath service policies and procedure.
•• Provides coverage for staff on vacation & sick leave.
•• Answers call from clinical team members and healthcare units or facilities, different units of T.B.C.C. and directs appropriately on a regular basis.
•• Ordering and distribution of offsite patient charts whenever necessary.
•• Performs other duties as required by Manager, Patient Information Access, Standards and Services.
