Managing projects in Petroleum Supply Chain domain products of Aspentech by coordinating cross-functional teams located both in US and APAC regions.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Work with Portfolio manager (R&D VP) in resource planning, and road-map planning of products.
2. Coordinate with Product Management, and Product Architect to extract and elaborate product requirements.
3. Create integrated project plans and derive project milestones.
4. Manage Project issues and Risks (implement contingency plans)
5. Stakeholder management; Managing Project Communication through project status meeting, weekly reports.

7. Coordinate with Product Management for Beta testing activities.

Development manager for 3 releases of Aspen IMOS product which is a Java based web application for supply and distribution solution of petroleum refineries (Customers: British Petroleum - WCP refinery, ENI Italy, PetroChina).
• Aspen IMOS is an enterprise supply and distribution solution for companies in the oil and petroleum industry. It is an enterprise application based on J2EE and it integrates technologies such as WebServices, iBatis, Oracle and Weblogic.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Managed 3 releases of the product for full SDLC with a team size of 25 resources and coordinated with the global teams.
• Creating project plans and teamwork assignments, identifying resource needs, directs daily work efforts, and tracking key project milestones.
• Directing and development teams in the areas of scheduling, technical direction, future planning, and standard development practices.
• Holding Team building activities; Conduct performance reviews for the team members; guide the team members in career growth.
I led a team of 28 developers in Shanghai to design, develop and delivery of 2 releases of IMOS 2006.5, and V7.2 for customer British Petroleum, and ENI Italy. Aspen IMOS manages supply and demand balancing, inventory, nominations, exchanges, movement scheduling, and contract monitoring, while providing decision support tools to further manage the petroleum supply chain.
Technologies used:
Java, JSP, Struts, GWT, spring, iBatis, Weblogic 11, Oracle 11i, MS SQL Server, Apache Tomcat 5.25.
Responsibilities:
• Requirements gathering and draft/review functional specifications.
• Design, and review the design docs with the senior developers in the team.
• Implemented business validations for Contract monitoring, Shipment scheduling, Pipeline transport and Location balance.
• Set expectations to the team on Quality, and monitor Quality across all Project phases.
• Provide training to the new team members based on the project needs.
• Involved in usability and accessibility design issues of the system.
• Demo the completed features to the senior management and other stakeholders.
I was responsible for design and development of web-tier and business-tier components across various functionalists of the IMOS 2006.5 for customer BP WCP, US.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Designed and implemented the Admin module, Location Balance View and Export to Excel features of the project.
• Coordinated tasks with teams between Boston/Shanghai
• Wrote and review the design docs with the senior developers in the team.
• Implemented business validations for Contract monitoring, Shipment scheduling, and Location balance.
• Mentor junior developers on coding best practices, and Supply Chain knowledge.
• Involved in peer-to-peer code reviews, and root cause analysis.
• Demo the completed features to the US team members and to the Quality teams.

I worked in a team to design and implement modules of a web based health care system. I took part in designing, implementation and testing of Patient Registry module which allows users (hospital staff) to maintain patient medical records and generate various reports. I took part in requirement review together with the project manager.

I worked in this company on an in-house development project of an accounting tool which is developed to track inventory reports, sales and purchase orders. Involved in implementation.
