I specialise in developing internationally recognised professional TVET solutions for government, industry and academia. Including:
• Providing advice and guidance on developing quality assurance systems and inspection frameworks for clients including the Kirby Moor School, HMP Education services, UAE Logistics Academy, raising standards and resulting in grades from above average to outstanding.
• Developing business processes designed to share intellectual capital of internal and external experts across a client’s organisation, resulting in better understanding of funding streams, the accreditation processes for apprenticeships, and quality assurance processes, which were mapped against client business requirements to create a 360 degree offer from recruitment to employment and continuing professional development.
• Developing industrial qualifications and modern apprenticeships mirrored to industry needs and sectorial skills requirements, in support of the government’s ‘Not in Employment, Education and Training’ (NEET) strategy.

Academy Project Manager at DLC Wordwide

• Project managed all deliverables for the creation of a ‘world-class’ education and vocational training facility in Abu Dhabi in-line with UAE military and civil requirements. Oversaw a budget of £4.5 million and the team of 10 UK-based educational specialists, as well as the recruitment of all managerial posts for the Academy in the UAE including the academy principal.
• Provided advice and guidance on the development of the UAE national vocational qualification framework, which has now been adopted, and was aligned to the UAE twelve industrial sectors.
• Identified international business opportunities with appropriate market entry strategies for the Baltic States, India, Nigeria, and Malaysia.
• Designed learning materials and training resources for the UN and the UAE Logistics Academy, including courses such as supply chain management, warehousing and distribution, procurement, manufacturing, including e-learning solutions.
• Delivered a variety of teacher training qualifications for the lifelong learning sector aligned to UK professional standards for aspiring trainers and teachers both in the UK and in the UAE.
• Provided technical assistance to DLC and the UAE Academy on the development of quality assurance systems and processes, benchmarked to international standards. Ensured robust audit mechanisms to measure the effectiveness of leadership and management and learning and teaching.
• Developed CPD strategies to maximise the efficiency and professionalism of the workforce. Trained the DLC staff responsible to ensure that they were qualified tutors, trainers and assessors.
• Liaised with external partners and key stakeholders, such as UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), UK Technical & Vocational Education & Training (TVET), Learning Skills Council (LSC), Skills Funding Agency (SFA), Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and other awarding organisations such as City & Guilds, to ensure that DLC quality assurance processes and market intelligence was maintained and current
• Developed and obtained international accreditation for a number of different vocational, education and training programmes aligned to the UK Qualification & Credit Framework (QCF), European Qualification Framework (EQF) and the UAE National Qualification Framework.
• Conducted an £20k ESF educational-funded research activity in collaboration with Newcastle College on Coaching and Mentoring in the workplace.
• Successfully gained a £30K ESF ‘Horizon’ tender from UKTI to develop international communications and export strategy for DLC.
