Prefabrication and installation of pipe systems in Nuclear Power Plant - Olkiluoto Finland
Lead piping engineering group by providing technical leadership, and technical development of staff.
Develop piping engineering designs and specification.
Manage and plan piping design activities to meet client's specification within the agreed timeframe.
Review all piping design deliverables done by engineers/designers such as piping route studies, piping general arrangement drawings, pipe and special support drawings and etc.
Develop Scope of work and man-hour estimates for proposals.
Review technical evaluation reports prepared by engineers.
Make staff evaluations and staff assignments
Review and comment on ITP’s, Project Procedures and Technical Specifications as and when required.
Performs routine surveillance of assigned areas and disciplines to ensure compliance with approved WPS and all applicable codes, standards, specifications and drawings.
Regular and timely response to contractor raised RFI’s to witness and verify technical inspections and materials testing as required by ITP’s and AFC Drawings
Witness Welding Procedure Qualification testing and Welder Qualification testing and review WPS/PQR per relevant Project specification and code
Review radiograph films and all relevant NDT reports (including PWHT review) as per applicable ITP’s.
Witness pressure testing (hydrostatic testing, pneumatic testing, leak testing etc) of piping spools, valves and etc. at workshop and piping system at site.
Regularly attend QA/QC Weekly Meeting with contractor and contribute to resolution of quality issues that occurred within a week.
Closely cooperate with PMT Construction/HSE departments in order to ensure work is being performed in a safe manner and within stipulated time by promoting pro-active approach.
Establishes and supports proactive and collaborative working relationships with EPC contractor.
As either a Lead Engineer on a project or reporting to the Lead Engineer on a larger project for feasibility, conceptual, FEED, detailed design or EPC Projects.
Organise inputs and supervise the preparation of pipeline engineering deliverables including philosophies, specifications, routing studies, mechanical design, material selection and Take Offs, corrosion protection, stress analysis, layouts, drawings, data sheets, and technical Requisitions and Bid Evaluations.
Identifies and resolves technical discrepancies and divergences from original proposals by the raising of technical queries/deviations with projects/client as required.
Administer the Purchase Requisitions for the procurement of equipment and materials.
Interface and meet with clients, vendor representatives, project management and other engineering disciplines.
Ensure strict compliance with Company’s ISO Quality procedures.
Interface and provide clarifications, guidance and technical support to construction sites.
Review ITB (Invitation to Bid) documents. Supervise and coordinate estimation work for tendering.
Review contract requirements for project execution, organise the preparation of the Technical Document Register.
Verify and conceptualise the most optimum work routes.
Coordinate with projects/planning on project time schedules.
Develop manpower charts and schedules. Assign and distribute manpower.
Act as a focal point/technical authority for pipeline engineering questions throughout the engineering design, construction and installation phases of Company’s pipeline projects, most of which are offshore.
Provide pipeline engineering input to other disciplines to assure that design outputs areconsistent.
Act as Company authority for the review of the pipeline aspects of Design Bases, design drawings, specifications, installation procedures, etc.
Act as required as the Company representative (pipelines) to ensure that design work by contractors meets Company standards and relevant industry codes.
Monitor the performance of design contractors and suggest remedial actions to avoid design deficiencies and installation delays.
Assist Company resident and/or project engineers with the pipeline engineering aspects of Facilities design.
Assist construction and commissioning teams with field questions encountered during installation (e.g. as related to pipe laying, risers, tie-ins, hydrotesting, welding, etc.)
Initiate and coordinate tasks needed for project execution including surveys, permitting or government reviews, material specification, installation procedures, testing, etc.
