JOB DESCRIPTION and RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervise the arrangements of Supplies and equipment in the CSSD as
directed by Supervisor.
• Direct the work of personnel assigned and ensure that supplies and
equipment to be sterilized are properly cleaned and prepared in packs as
necessary.
• Perform area cleaning by sanitizing workstation at the end of each shift.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested.
• Requests instruments and repairs to ensure routine instrument trays are
maintained at all times.
• Responsible for the operational activities of CSSD throughout the particular
shift to which assigned.
• Receives and resends all surgical instruments trays/sets and reports about
missing and damaged instruments to the supervisors.
• Lifting, standing, pushing, pulling heavy instruments and case cart.
• Follows Universal Precautions by wearing the appropriate protective attire
while working in the Decontamination area.
• Decontaminate surgical instruments and other medical equipment as needed
by keeping a continuous flow of moving thru the process.
• Utilize appropriate cleaning detergents and agents by reading directions and
MSDS sheets
• Follow manufacturer instructions when dealing with reusable equipment i.e.
power equipment, delicate and complex items.
• Inspects all instruments for cleanliness, proper function, and breakage by
viewing the instruments before assembly.
• Assemble surgical trays and equipment following established tray listings.
• Wraps or pouches items according to size and type of instruments or
equipment following established protocols.
• Challenge the sterilization process by using internal, external Chemical
Indicator & Biological Indicators monitoring systems appropriately.
• Monitor, read, document and interpret all parameters for steam sterilizer to
ensure proper function.
• Sterilize instruments and surgical trays by following prescribed policies and
procedures.
• Process and produce sterile items according to standard

JOB DESCRIPTION and RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Received contaminated devises, instruments and equipment in the
decontamination area and reduces the bio burden, being sure to always done
personal protective equipment.
• Uses chemical disinfectants and sterilizes according to safety procedures.
• Operates the decontamination and terminal sterilization equipment and
reports all malfunctions or changes in the parameters.
• Sorts, inspects, assemble and wraps or packages all decontaminated items.
• Assures proper sterility of all processes items by adhering to established
sterilization procedures including loading, unloading, storage, handling
techniques and sterility assurance monitors. Incubates Biological Monitors
and records all monitor results according to established procedures. Applies
tracking labels.
• Prepares single items and various sets as designated.
• Stocks CSSD carts with processes linin or instruments according to
the pre-determined items and quantities necessary to bring the cars
to par level.
• Reduce microbial growth and the transmission of microorganisms by
daily damp dusting with the approve hospital disinfectant. Inspects and
cleans sterilization equipment in CSSD according to established schedule.
• Completes all requisitions and forms for issues during the work shift.
Effects emergency issues from the Medical Stores area.
• Requisitions supplies and re-stocks shelves with products necessary for
CSSD operation. Rotates stock on a first in/first out basis. Checks all items
for sterilization.
• Maintains control of traffic in all restricted areas of the department
including the proper use of surgical scrub attire.
• Assists in new employee orientation.
• Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.
• Participates in self and other’s education, training and development as
applicable.
• Performs other related duties as assigned

JOB DESCRIPTION and RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Decontaminates surgical instruments and other disposable supplies in washer
disinfector and disinfecting solutions.
• Assembles instruments in the tray according to the checklist. Sterilize
instruments, surgical linens and other supplies.
• Assembles different kinds of linen packs for Operating Room.
• Operates autoclaves, gas sterilizer, washer disinfector, ultrasonic machine and
other machines in CSSD.
• Prepares checklist of contents and affix list inside the packs.
• Prepares control system for all items processed and document it.
• Collect used supplies and instruments for cleaning and sterilization.
• Daily test for autoclaves using bowie dick test and biological spores test.
• Daily change of fresh chart for autoclaves. Use chartes are to be filed in
chronological order for documentation purposes.
• Disinfects packing tables, machines and flooring with disinfectant solutions
daily and as needed.
• Checks integrity of the packs, wrapper and seals after sterilization.

Operating Room and Central Supply Room Department
• Do housekeeping procedures and arrangement of all things inside OR.
• Packing and sterilizing instruments and linens, gloves and other supplies.
• After care before and after operation by cleaning, disinfecting the area and
washing the instruments.
• Circulating in the absence of nurse preferably during afternoon and night
shift.
• Assisting patients in the desired position as they needed.
• Maintaining cleanliness and proper care of all things inside OR.
• Prepares scrub suites, mask, slippers, sterile gown and instruments available
at all times.
• Helps in making supplies.
• Assist in sterilizing soiled instruments and prepare it for all kinds for
operation in OPD/ER.
• Assist in preparing cotton tie, splint, cotton balls, OS, top dressing and ensure
availability at all times.
