I am the founder and editor of an online literary journal named Blakelight. My duties include:
Building and maintaining the website via WordPress.
Managing the website's email and communications.
Managing the website's Instagram page.
Creating visuals via Photoshop.
I am graduate Assistant to the English Literature's Head of Department Dr. Peter Williams. My duties mainly consist of academic research and class resource management.
I was a writer and editor in my university's Newspaper, Highlights. My duties included:
Writing occasional articles.
Checking articles for mistakes and copy-editing.
Interacting with fellow writers and editors.
I was a Freelance writer with the Culture Trip and my duties included:
Brainstorming topics having to do with travel and culture in Lebanon.
Interacting with senior and copy-editors to get the best article results possible.
Researching Royalty-Free media to accompany each article.
I translated and transcribed one video (Arabic to English) to which I wrote the accompanying article.
I had a month-long PR internship aiding on accounts such as Dubai Tourism (for Dubai Shopping Festival), Acer and Clarks. My duties included.
Drafting and/or editing press releases.
Contacting publications for Editorial Calendars and individuals for coverage.
Brainstorming during campaign sessions.
Recording print and digital media coverage via Excel.
I am currently obtaining my Master's Degree in English Literature with a focus on art philosophy and modern drama (Mainly Francis Bacon and Samuel Beckett). As of Fall 2018 I will have finished my required courses and submitted my proposal for the thesis.
I had an active university experience as I was part of Inklings (The English Club) and Highlights (The University's student newspaper). I maintained a merit scholarship throughout my three year education and graduated with distinction.
