• Manage the crew roster for the rigs - assigning new recruits to a schedule based on their date of joining, shuffling the crew in a way that the rig is manned at all times and ensuring that the employees get their equal time on / off without the company having to pay overtime.
• Assist the HR Advisor with admin related tasks pertaining to recruitment, such as preparing the personnel requisition form, issuing their employment agreement, assignment letter, coordinating with the candidates to send in their documents and contacting their previous employers for a reference check.
• Contact candidates to ensure all documents are submitted before the start date.
• Coordinate with the Seadrill International Resourcing for issuing the employment agreements and
assignment letters.
• Update Oracle with employee changes.
• Coordinate with the Insurance department to ensure that the employee and their family members
are insured under company life and medical policy.
• Book flights for the crew on rotation as well as their training flights and accommodation.
• Check the monthly payroll for each rig - ensuring that the employees are paid correct salary,
overtime, geo factor (if applicable) and any other expenses incurred by the employee which is
payable by the company.
• Maintain employee files.
• Maintain daily contact with colleagues in the shipyard in Korea with regular updates on crew
schedules, etc.
• Initiate, receive and audit incoming employee paperwork - documents received for the department are scanned by me and distributed to the relevant personnel.
• Develop proficiency in HR Policy & Procedures, interpretation, application and respond appropriately to staff inquiries on the same - ensuring that when employees approach the Human Resources department, they understand their rights and benefits as per company Policy & Procedures.
• Maintain a record of responses and actions consistent with requirements - a time frame was set within which all queries had to be answered. In the case that a response from the department was delayed, an explanation had to be provided for the same.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on staff issues and resolution status for the Director - Human Capital.
• Provide administrative support to the payroll department in preparing monthly reports, by providing the figures for employee turnover, relevant documents for the new hires, etc.
• Responsible for issuing letters to employees with contractual changes.
• Responsible for issuing employment contracts for selected candidates.
• Conducted employee induction on their day of joining.
• Independently managed the Human Capital Helpdesk that was initiated as a one point contact for all
HR related queries for all employees.
