establish accepted worldwide standards for Purchasing and Materials. Produce Policies & Procedures for Purchasing and Material stores. Setup the material stores facility including the purchase of shelving, layout of the storage areas, training personnel in proper procedures. Acceptance of 2 year spares purchased from the prime contractor. Work with the Maximo project team in creating the stores in Maximo, populating the inventory and instructing on proper storage techniques for turned over inventory. Check and verify all item descriptions, set max/min inventory levels, setup Vendor base. The Procurement Dept. was another challenge, there was no computer system in the early days, so we had to design a functional Manual Purchase Order and a control system to be used until the |Maximo system was implemented. Setting up Procurement in Maximo was accomplished and the entire system put on line within 6 months. The balance of the contract period was used for formal training of personnel.
