Al-Saeed Investment Group is a leader in the Egyptian Market in Manufacturing and Trading of variety of FMCG (edible oil, margarine, bottled water, etc.) and house hold products like detergents and soaps.
I joined the Group to manage two major new projects:
- Establishing the first franchise chain of supermarkets and modern groceries in Egypt with a long-term plan for expansion in the ME.
- Establishing 4 modern logistic zones.
- Creating the internal trade map to make Egypt an attractive retail destination.
- Improving the merchandise quality, reducing waist, reducing cost, monitoring prices, regulating the internal trade activities and increasing employment.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinating with other Ministries, Governorates and Organizations to identify the most suitable locations for internal trade activities (trade and logistics)
- Marketing and promoting these locations to the investors.
- Attracting International Retailers to establish branded retail chains in Egypt.
Achievements:
- Get three large plots from Ministry of Housing (from 395 acres to 1, 500 acres) to be used as Logistics Areas through assets transfer.
- Contracting with Industrial Development Authority to handle the infrastructure of those three plots.
- Get 7 different locations from Governorates to be bid for internal trade projects across Egypt.
- Opening the first shop of Macro Cash & Carry chain in Egypt.
- Help Carrefour Egypt to open the first 3 Carrefour Express shops and acquiring new plots to open more Carrefour Hypermarkets.

My main responsibility in this position is to convert the service and support department from non-profitable department into revenue generating department and keeping a world class level of customer satisfaction.
- Beside my roles in Sales & Marketing, I had a new Marketing assignment as Strategic Products Group (SPG) Senior Manager.
- The scopes of responsibilities are products’ Portfolio, Forecasting, Pricing, Availability, Marketing Plans, Products Mix, Profitability, Market share, Brand, Channels, etc.
Achievements:
- from 2004 to 2005 16% growth in sales.
- In 2005 the target was 45 units, we achieved 63 units.
- Increase Kodak Express Outlets from 236 into 245.
-The major responsibility is the conversion of the company business from analogue to digital in the both fields under my responsibility, sales and services.
-I’ve been responsible for both Sales and Services of developing and implementing all Kodak digital and films Equipment marketing plans and strategies as well as sales plans to meet the local and regional goals.
-My role covers the ownership of the product, price, promotion and channel for marketing and sales, and covers all Digital and Film Equipment products in the portfolio.
-Responsible also for target achievements and P&L status for both Sales and Services.
-Prepare market and cases studies to stand on the market needs and reveal the value added for both the company and customers.
-Responsible for negotiations with the equipment suppliers in order to get best prices that ensure profitable business.
-Supervising a service workforce of 6 Tech. and 2 Administrators and a sales workforce of 2 area sales managers and 2 sales reps.
The Service and Support Organization for Consumer Imaging was changed into independent Business Unit. I was assigned as Country Service and Support Manager for Consumer Imaging reporting in a solid line to the Regional Service & Support Manager whom is responsible for Europe, Africa and Middle East Region.
-Managing the service and support activities for two Business Units, Consumer Imaging and Health Imaging ( CI & HI).
-Managing the call center, spare parts cycle, contracts and billing, camera shop, maintenance schedules, department’s performance, services metrics, etc.
-Budgeting responsibilities and annual operating plans.
-Supervising the technical and administrative staff of maintenance department, a work force of 8 field engineers, one technician and 2 administrative clerks.

- Managing activities, budget, staff and development of the three departments
-Managing Company General Administration, Office Services Dept., Building Services Dept., Security, HSE Dept. and GCSS Dept.
