• Plan and carry out/supervise inspection by non-destructive means on existing stationary equipment and associated piping/structures, including any modifications or additions that may be done from time to time.
• Specify and witness all tests on stationary equipment and associated piping/structures necessary to provide assurance of safety and reliability in service.
• Compile written reports of the results of inspection findings and make appropriate recommendations for maintenance/repair works strictly in accordance with good engineering practice as guided by the appropriate International Codes and Recommended Practices
• Maintain comprehensive records of inspection findings, results of tests conducted, and repair/maintenance works carried out.
• Review and update inspection schedules for individual items of equipment and recommend optimum shutdown frequencies for plant and equipment.
• Review inspection records and highlight as early as possible findings of deterioration and/or defect that might have an impact on equipment serviceability or high maintenance costs, in order that remedial action in the way of major replacements or repairs could be planned for and carried out on a routine basis;
• Provide method of repair if required on pressure retaining equipment and follow-up to ascertain that field fabrications and installations are in accordance with accepted codes, standards and specifications.
• Updating and using CMMS and IMS such as SAP and S-RBI to prepare and follow up the implementation of inspection programs (on stream & off stream) for all static equipment & pipelines and define the inspection frequencies based on the results obtained and criticality.
• To supervise performing the periodical inspection and assessment for all static equipment of Obaiyed facilities (Pressure vessels, tanks, process piping and pipelines) involving, visual inspection, wall-thickness survey, NDT checks and etc. The inspection covers the gas and condensate separation & treatment Plant, utilities, storage facilities, wellheads and flow lines, associated equipment, relief valves, lifting equipment, outstations and export pipelines.
• To prepare and follow up the implementation of inspection programs (on stream & off stream) for all static equipment & pipelines and define the inspection frequencies based on the results obtained and criticality
• Reporting all the inspection activities as inspection reports and ensuring to update related software and filling of hard copies.
• To give on-the-job training to Inspection Engineers, Trainees and Inspection Technicians as required.
• To ensure that inspection staff carries out the work in a safe and professional manner.
• Additional knowledge at the field of Corrosion management activities were obtained through the following:
o Corrosion rate monitoring by the weight loss technique (corrosion coupons), and by electrical resistance technique (corrosion probes).
o Cathodic protection activities by potential measurements and adjustment on all protected structures, hardware equipment check for T/R adjustment, test posts, bonding resistor boxes and junction boxes checks.
o Painting and coating inspection.
My responsibilities was as the following:*Prepare and follow up the quality control documents of the project, including all certificates and the inspection plan and schedule for the welding and installation of piping above/under ground, structure steel, equipments, vessels, pumps, cylindrical tanks, spherical tanks and heat exchangers.*Establishment of welding procedures specification (WPS) and the procedure qualification record(PQR) and the welders qualification test in according of codes, standards, and specifications.*Performing visual inspection, dimension check, fabrication, and erection check for steel structure, pipe spools, vessels, and tanks. *Controlling the welding activities and repair percentage.*Make visual check, dimensions check and control welding process.*Complete documentation for every step from above mentioned activities.*Preparing QA/QC system to be followed to control fabrication, welding, and erection of piping and equipments and hydrostatic testing.*R.T film interpretation, ultrasonic test, and dye Penetrant test according to related codes and standards.*Preparing and review the technical quality control documents for hand over to the client.
Graduated from Mansoura University, Faculty of Engineering on June 1996. (Egypt) My average grade for the five years study was “Good”, graduation year grade was “Very Good” and graduation project grade was “Excellent”.
