• Responsibilities cover handling of multiple projects through their complete lifecycle, with emphasis on client satisfaction
• As a member of the PMO in Diaa Consult, responsibilities include the advancement of the PMO office, by enhancing workflow (templates, methods, document control, etc…) and compiling reports to aid adoption of the office specific PM best practices
• Working through the complex organizational structure of the office to get work done efficiently, on time, and within the parameters and scope of the project to achieve the desired pre-planned results

Interior Architecture Project Manager at AYA Investments - Hilton Kampala

• Holding the position of Interior Architecture Project Manager from the developer end, for the lustrous 27 floor, 5 star, Hilton Kampala on Nakasero Hill.
• Working towards the opening of one of the most prestigious hotels in the African continent, and the highest building in Uganda.
• The challenge was a very tight schedule, extremely challenging site conditions, and to manage the construction of the lavish hotel, with limited tools and resources, especially lack of highly skilled manpower.
• My job was mainly to lead a team to modify, design, detail, and construct the interiors of all public areas, back of house, and private penthouse (top 3 floors).
• Total areas covered were in excess of 20, 000 square meters, with a team of more than 40 draftsmen, technicians, and foremen, who in turn manage teams of +100 skilled workers, and minimum of 400 non-skilled workers.
• Planning project requirements for materials, tools and manpower to ensure uninterrupted project flow. Most finish materials were imported long lead items which needed extensive planning from selection, to ordering to receiving and finally implementing on site.
• Hiring and liaising with subcontractors for specific scope of works. Including providing drawings, BOQs and other construction documents, and following up on progress until final handover.
• Other than my main role, I was involved in dispute management, team development, the day to day management of construction activities within my areas of development, and coordinating with the electrical and MEP managers to achieve an optimal high end product.

• The Gardenia project includes a 4 star hotel, over 400 units, with 4 swimming pools, bar, discotheque, roof bar and restaurant, 2 other restaurants, and many other features with unique designs, and very constrained site conditions.
• Role in Gardenia project ranges from checking and controlling the construction process, ensuring conformity to design, signing off and inspecting all works from the contractor, intervening with solutions, details and specifications where problems arise, working closely with the main contractor, MEP consultant, and subcontractors to assure highest quality works and optimal team performance, updating the construction teams with modifications on designs and methods, updating and maintaining pace for the project schedule, and all consultant related works to assure minimal deviation from project schedule and design and to obtain high quality works, on time.
• Working as a small to medium scale project contractor with various clients, ranging from commercial and residential design and build to retail projects and others. In this role, I carry out the full spectrum of works from inception to execution and handover. With an expanding client list and growing number of projects.
