• As a member of the PMO in Diaa Consult, responsibilities include the advancement of the PMO office, by enhancing workflow (templates, methods, document control, etc…) and compiling reports to aid adoption of the office specific PM best practices
• Working through the complex organizational structure of the office to get work done efficiently, on time, and within the parameters and scope of the project to achieve the desired pre-planned results
• Mentoring younger office architects and engineers, inside the office or on work sites, in every position to further enhance the project integrity for the specific projects I’m handling, as well as the overall performance of the office
• Day to day responsibilities includes revising and approving invoices, samples, data sheets, initiating change orders, work orders, method of statements and all necessary functions to push the projects to the desired milestones with the least deviation from the planned
• Serving as the main point of contact between the office and clients, the main objective is helping clients achieve a workable formula to meet objectives for their different projects, and that these objectives are broken down to the level of internal work orders. This phase starts with the project brief and ends with the final project delivery
• Selecting the project team and making sure the client objectives are translated to deliverables, whether it’s a design project, a construction project, a study or a combination of different services
• STACCATO is my own brand which I've been developing for the past two years
• The company is a young versatile service provider, with a very good portfolio of works and offered services
• Starting with a team of only two architects, Staccato has been recognized in the Zambian market as a trustworthy service provider, offering comprehensive high end design services, and mid-level construction services

• Responsibilities include all necessary works to advance AVA’s core and peripheral services in Zambia.
• Scope of works varies from brand recognition, to sales and procurement, to client management and design work, to supervision of project sites and project management.
• The main goal is to build on AVA’s versatile portfolio, to advance the growth of the company in Zambia, and the surrounding region. Reaching beyond borders to provide our services in South Africa, Malawi, Angola and others.
• Gearing the branch, with support from Cairo’s head office, to be recognized as a one stop shop for design and construction services. Powered with a comprehensive portfolio of services given to our clients for their new or existing construction projects.
• Work includes the day to day management of the branch activities in Zambia and the region.
• Advancing different market approaches in terms of design, sales and construction concepts.
• Holding the position of Interior Architecture Project Manager from the developer end, for the lustrous 27 floor, 5 star, Hilton Kampala on Nakasero Hill.
• Working towards the opening of one of the most prestigious hotels in the African continent, and the highest building in Uganda.
• The challenge was a very tight schedule, extremely challenging site conditions, and to manage the construction of the lavish hotel, with limited tools and resources, especially lack of highly skilled manpower.
• My job was mainly to lead a team to modify, design, detail, and construct the interiors of all public areas, back of house, and private penthouse (top 3 floors).
• Total areas covered were in excess of 20, 000 square meters, with a team of more than 40 draftsmen, technicians, and foremen, who in turn manage teams of +100 skilled workers, and minimum of 400 non-skilled workers.
• Planning project requirements for materials, tools and manpower to ensure uninterrupted project flow. Most finish materials were imported long lead items which needed extensive planning from selection, to ordering to receiving and finally implementing on site.
• Hiring and liaising with subcontractors for specific scope of works. Including providing drawings, BOQs and other construction documents, and following up on progress until final handover.
• Other than my main role, I was involved in dispute management, team development, the day to day management of construction activities within my areas of development, and coordinating with the electrical and MEP managers to achieve an optimal high end product.
• Working as a freelance Architect and Interior Designer with many local and international clients, with a large spectrum of themes and specializations.
• Works include the supervision and management of Gardenia Resort project in Hurghada, as main consultant representative.
• The Gardenia project includes a 4 star hotel, over 400 units, with 4 swimming pools, bar, discotheque, roof bar and restaurant, 2 other restaurants, and many other features with unique designs, and very constrained site conditions.
• Role in Gardenia project ranges from checking and controlling the construction process, ensuring conformity to design, signing off and inspecting all works from the contractor, intervening with solutions, details and specifications where problems arise, working closely with the main contractor, MEP consultant, and subcontractors to assure highest quality works and optimal team performance, updating the construction teams with modifications on designs and methods, updating and maintaining pace for the project schedule, and all consultant related works to assure minimal deviation from project schedule and design and to obtain high quality works, on time.
• Working as a small to medium scale project contractor with various clients, ranging from commercial and residential design and build to retail projects and others. In this role, I carry out the full spectrum of works from inception to execution and handover. With an expanding client list and growing number of projects.
•Preparing project study for management (BOQ, Risk, Preliminary program, etc…) prior to tender submission.
•Establishing Planning & Control Dept.
•Planning and scheduling project tasks, and setting project objectives.
•Following up on project progress, and updating management with periodic reports for review.
•Creating job orders for sub-contractors.
•Controlling and coordinating project activities and variation orders between design and construction Depts. Including phase control, quality control, and cost control throughout the different phases of the project.
•Creating final invoices for sub-contractor’s works, and for client side for final payments processing.
•Coordinating the Planning and Tech Office Dept. activities with Design and Construction Depts.
•Establishing and updating core policies and processes for Planning/Tech Office procedures, including methodology, work flow, documentation, templates, reports, etc...
•Projects include high end retail projects for the most prestigious brands in Egypt.
•Job included working with MAF Misr (Majid Al Futtaim), as a consultant (Tenant Delivery Manager) for Alexandria City Center Extension, until final opening and completion of the extension.
•MAF works included supervising contractors fit out works, ensuring that works are as per MAF Shopping Centers guidelines and helping contractors achieve fit out mile stones, and the tenants achieve their opening date mile stones, Conducting on-site supervision and implement quality control measures, and ensuring compliance with final design approved drawings.
•Managing several high end turnkey projects from initiation to final handover and closing. Includes all project activities including supervision of site works and managing complete project workflow.
•Supervising design and draftsmen team for all projects.
•Time scheduling, liaising with suppliers and sub contractors, assessing risks, processing payment requests for subcontractors and suppliers, and creating payment requests for company.

•Achieved flexible workflow system and policies from bottom up to facilitate all activities of the design/PM/execution of projects, which all proved to give optimal turnover times in design, inquiry, execution, payment processing, follow-up, and final handover.
