Solid waste management and solid waste treatment

I currently serve as the Head of the Environmental Protection Department at the Greater Amman Municipality, a role I have held since 2004. I am an environmental expert with over 20 years of experience in solid waste management, recycling, urban cleanliness, and environmental compliance.

In my role, I oversee the planning and execution of municipal waste collection, treatment, and recycling programs, while ensuring high standards of public sanitation and occupational safety. I manage field teams, develop operational strategies, and supervise environmental performance across several districts in Amman.

I am also a certified environmental impact assessor, accredited by the King Abdullah II Center for Excellence, and a registered environmental expert with the Jordanian Agricultural Engineers Association. I regularly conduct Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for municipal operations and regional development projects to ensure alignment with environmental laws and sustainability goals.

My responsibilities include:

Leading environmental assessments and inspections

Developing and implementing waste management systems

Ensuring ISO 14001 compliance and environmental reporting

Promoting environmental awareness and safety training programs

Participating in international forums and workshops on environmental protection (e.g., Norway, China)

With a strong technical background and hands-on leadership, I contribute to building a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable urban environment in the city of Amman.
