As an electrical design enginner, my responsibility is to prepare and review the following documents
•Preparation of Electrical Load List, Single Line Diagram, Cable sizing calculations, Cable Schedule, Generator & Transformer sizing, Sizing & selection of LV/MV Switchgear, & UPS.
•Electrical Design basis, Grounding Philosophy, Lighting Philosophy, constructional layouts
Power, Lighting and Grounding layouts, Substation layouts, and Cable trench/tray layouts.
•Hazardous Area Classification Design, Preparation of design of Heat Trace System, Review of vendor design for Telecom & CCTV & Plant SCADA System.
•Preparation of DCR and DCR planner and indicate the milestones as agreed with client.
•Preparation of Engineering schedule aligning with EPC Project schedule.
•Execution of all project phases as per defined specifications and timelines
• Technical Review of Electrical Interconnections and Schematic Diagrams
• Data Sheet, Material Requisite Technical Bid evolution of Electrical Equipment
•∆MTO/BOQ Estimation and Proposal write-up.
•Capable of working with different Models of ETAP such as (Load Flow, Short Circuit, Motor Starting, & Transient Analysis, Relay cordination)
•Lighting Lux Level Calculations for both outdoor and indoor lighting using DIALUX.
• Preparation of RFQ, TBE and VDOC review of electrical equipment.
Project details
1. AkAZOBLE
The Project scope is to provide EPC turn key solution for AkzoNobel Plant in order to enhance plant capacity
from 25ML to 75ML that is going to relocate from Lahore to Faisalabad. DESCON has been awarded Project
to Design and Build (EPC) New Moon Paints & Coatings Plant. Electrical scope included to Design (Detail
Engineering Deliverables & Studies), Procurement & Support for Installation of Electrical equipment like
Power generation, Transformers MV/LV Switchgear, UPS system etc.
2. ICI PAKISTAN (Soda Ash) - 60 KTPA LIGHT ASH EXPANSION IN COMBINATION WITH 75KTPA
ICI PAKISTAN (DOL), who wants to further increase capacity of their existing Soda Ash plant in Khewra,
Pakistan. As a part of Electrical Design team, prepared Electrical Detailed Engineering works not limited to
Load list, SLD, System studies (LF, SC & MS), Power Layouts, Cable sizing calculation, Cable Tray Layouts,
Grounding & lighting calculation using DIALUX.
3. TASNEE - COOLING WATER GRP LINES REPLACEMENT PROJECT
The scope of this project was to develop Front-End-Engineering Design (FEED I) package for replacing GRP
(Glass Reinforced Plastic) to CS (Carbon Steel) in SEPC (Saudi Ethylene & Polyethylene Company.) CW
network. This project also covers the Load Flow, Short Circuit and Motor Starting studies that are carried out
to determine the adequacy check after the replacements of lines and verify the appropriate MV & LV power
cable sizes to be used for FEED after relocation of five Nos. of existing CW circulation pumps, existing vital
cooling water pump, and 02 existing Chemical dosing skids.
4. SABIC (Ar-Razi) - MV CABLE REPLACEMENT
Ar-Razi, an Affiliate of SABIC had a fault in one of their MV Cables feeding Power from Central Substation -
IV (CSS-IV) to Local Substation - IV (LSS-IV). The cable has since been isolated and out of service. Ar-Razi
intended to install new MV Power Cable on an alternate route on Cable Trays from CSS-IV to LSS-IV.
DESCON services are engaged to develop the Front-End Engineering Design for the project.
5. SABIC (Petrokemya) - SALT BOOSTER PUMP
Complete DEED Package was developed and prepared all necessary engineering documents, specifications
and procedures related to the Design, Procurement, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of all Electrical
equipment proposed for the Power Supply of Booster Pump and its auxiliaries.
