Project: Bus Depot at Al Qouz Industrial Fourth, Dubai
Project Description: The concept of Al Qouz Bus Depot is intended to demonstrate part of Dubai capability to host Expo 2020, by its unique location and accessibility.
The project covers plot size of 49, 363 m2 that will consist of a bus parking area, workshops, accommodation, fuelling and washing in addition to staff offices.
Employer: Roads & Transport Authority (RTA)
Contractor: Al Mousa & Sons Contracting
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Contract administration including contractual correspondence, both upstream with the employer and down-stream with the contractor;
- Evaluation of payment applications and the contractor’s proposal for valuation of variations;
- Evaluation of value engineering proposals;
- Administration of provisional sums and prime cost sums; and
- Attending site meetings; commercial and progress meetings.
Work scope covers post-contract administration including;
- Administering contract correspondences both upstream with Employer/ Project Manager/ Supervision Consultant and downstream with Subcontractors
- Claims and notifications
- Identification and valuation of variations
- Compilation of value engineering proposals
- Preparation of Interim Payment Applications
- Administration of Provisional Sums and Prime Cost Sums
- Subcontract agreement formulation
- Assessment of Subcontractor’s Interim Payment Applications
- Attending site meetings; commercial and progress meetings
-Estimation of civil and related MEP works for the 400kV, 132/11kV, and 33/11kV electrical substations which engaged me in taking off quantities, making preliminary estimate, calling for quotations, preparation of rate breakdowns, tender costing etc…
-Tender document preparation for various private developers and government entities such as NAKHEEL PJSC, MERAAS Development LLC, Meydan Sobha LLC, EMAAR Properties, DEWA, FEWA, TRANSCO, ADDC & AADC.
-Sub-contractor finalization, which covered the scope of calling quotations, subcontractor evaluation, price and terms & conditions negotiations, work order finalization.
-Sub-contractor management which included the evaluating subcontractor’s variations and payment applications.
Preparing financial and contractual inputs for the claims & dealing effectively with post contract variations.
-Preparation of cost monitoring and analyzing reports in order to evaluate effective utilization of Material, Labor & Plant.
-Compiling inputs for value engineering proposals.
