• Arrange a weekly meeting with project teams to insure the project is working at the right track and meeting planned schedule.
• Implement procedures to ensure the quality of work and delivery at the same time.
•Conduct ongoing risk analysis and assessment accompanied with developing contingency plans.
• Submit weekly and monthly reports to Project management office and project control in order to assure that the project progress is complying with other goals and strategies.
The major responsibilities for Rafat as a project manager are:
• Manage and control the company projects (with budget around 15-45 million) from initiation stage and ending with closing and delivering stage including planing, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.
• Define the project life cycle based on the life span given by stakeholders.
• Clarify the project communication plan between the company at each project in order to ensure the quality features and specifications required by the stakeholders.
• Develop a work breakdown structure (WBS) using Microsoft project 2010 and submit status reports to decision makers which contain project Gantt chart and project networks for each project to show the critical path, slack time, dependencies between activities, …..etc) in order to ensure the quality of work within the specified timespan and budget.
• Estimate the resources (people and equipment) needed to achieve projects goals.
• Submit budget proposals.
• Assess the potential risks that may face the company projects by providing decision tree diagram in order to show the probability of occurrence of any problem or uncertainty during the implementation and provide adequate information for each project such as Risk Breakdown Structure and Risk Severity Matrix.
• Coordinate the efforts of team members and third-party whether they were (contractors or consultants) in order to deliver projects according to plan resolving conflicts within the project team.
• Proactively define and manage the project scope and any changes regarding scope, establish project priorities and responsibility matrix according to resources allocated, identify potential risks, and devise contingency plans.
• Submit weekly and monthly status reports showing the progress of development at each project
Rafat was a project supervisor in Jeddah municipality at dept. of planning and designing open spaces. The major responsibilities for Rafat were:
-Supervising the project of Jeddah National park (his graduation project at King abdul aziz university).
- A member of developing the cornice of Jeddah with a direct cooperation with Scott Wilson engineering consultancy group.
- Developing and redesigning Abdullah al-sulaiman Street in order to enhance the educational linkage between the street and King abdul aziz University.
- Supervising the development process of Palestine bridge during design and planning phases.
- designing and monitoring various projects in different scales accompanied with applying quality procedures.
- supervising the implementation process of company projects including planning and monitoring stages.
- Ensuring that each project is delivered within schedule and required time accompanied with specifications.
- Analyzing projects life cycle and control project expenses.
-Rafat 's GPA is 80.3% and he acquired the best project in Design of construction operation for (Simulation of Ready mixed concrete operation). - Rafat participated in a group project in International project management "The management of time, costs, quality, risk, resources and people in Sydney". - Rafat also participated in the project of sustainability assessment and Risk Analysis for (A Comparison of Seawater Desalination and ‘Third Pipe’ Non-Potable recycled water Broome, Western Australia). - participate in the project of using environmental material accounting tools to ensure the sustainability in Sydney.
Rafat's GPA is 3.36 and he obtained the following during his study in Bachelor degree: •A Honor certificate for obtaining the best graduation project (designing the natural park in Jeddah). •Participating in the international competition to design BazardsBay Village Park in Boston in the United States. •Participating in the contest IFHP- competition- ROME. • Monitoring and documenting the physical identity of Al hamra region in Jeddah. •Redesigning and conserving the local identity and footpath in the historical region in Jeddah. •Designing the residential area of (Alraes Village) in the western region of Saudi Arabia.
