Being an Environment Scanning Officer at the International Committee of the Red Cross enables me to be at the center
of internal and external issues related to Jordan in particular and the region in general at various levels, be they political,
economic, or humanitarian, etc. Through the process of scanning, assessing and translating all relevant news, I produce weekly reports assembling the prominent topics that concern the delegation, which keeps ICRC delegates inside Jordan and abroad well informed about the situation in Jordan and the region.
In addition, I make sure to provide analysis of the local social media within the weekly report in order to offer a deeper insight into the status quo of the Jordanian street regarding certain issues. This is done through following Facebook and Twitter mainly, so to highlight the most prominent trends in my reports. I provid my delegation with political and non-political analytical reports about specific topics which needed in-depth and neutral analysis, apart from my weekly media reports. As I monitor the political news in the country on daily basis, I have built a critical, analytical mentality which enables me to understand the current political developments in Jordan and even to speculate future events depending on the close readings of the present situation.
Being fluent in both Arabic and English is an asset that enables me to carry out such communications smoothly and with clarity.
