My current primary role includes full responsibility and accountability operational requirement of fire and life safety systems in HMC facilities in compliance with the Codes and Standards.
Providing engineering and technical support to HMC Team for design reviews, routine inspection of fire and life safety systems, and implementation of corrective actions to enhance and maintain the fire and life safety conditions in compliance with the requirements of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Joint Commission International (JCI), Qatar Civil Defense Department (QCDD), and protect the patients, visitors, staff, and healthcare assets/properties from fire and life safety risks.
Prepare and present technical papers to Senior Management from time to time to promote designs and/or strategies. Check the adequacy of designs produced by others, to ensure fitness for purpose and technical quality, in terms of providing safe facilities, in compliance with the Codes, Standards, Principles, Practices and Specifications. Verify that the building or facilities being designed are of adequate dimensions top house all the equipment to be installed therein.
Attending project and hospital operational phasing meetings to ensure that fire and life safety is not compromised.
His current primary responsibilities include the review of firefighting and HVAC designs, including automatic sprinkler protection and associated hydraulic calculations, as part of the risk mitigation program for existing healthcare and non-healthcare facilities of Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar. His responsibilities also include daily construction inspections, addressing fire protection queries, training client teams and supporting the Safety Management Services team on daily basis.
He loves working on fire and life safety and made his focus on lifelong learning of all aspects of it.

Responsibilities :
Review of design drawings from Consultant/drafting agency, raise/answer “Request for Information” (RFI)
Coordinate with the procurement team to prepare the material submittal as per the tender BOQ and specification
Hydraulic Calculations in Elite “Fire” software, Expansion Joint Calculations, Gas Suppression System Calculations
Review architectural room layout sheets and room data sheets for FF, Plumbing and HVAC system equipment’s
Preparation of Design Basis Reports/Concept Notes, P & ID's and GA Layouts for fire protection systems
Preparation of technical specifications, bid evaluations review and approval of contractors' documents
Fire water network/Sprinkler hydraulic calculations as per NFPA codes
Design and review of water spray Deluge system on hydrocarbon storage tanks, bullets, rail/road loading gantries, process equipment, electrical transformers etc.
Check the design and technical specification for clean agent system, FM200, CO2 and other inert gas system.
Study and checking of adequacy of existing fire protection systems of industrial plants etc.
Calculation and Selection and of portable fire extinguishers, Fixed and Mobile equipment’s.
Co-ordination with clients, vendors, insurance company and statutory bodies for technical clarifications
Preparation and documentation of important correspondence, minutes of meetings with client, vendors
Office Safety programs, meetings, Safety Walks, Safety Audits and Mock Fire Drills
