KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Financial Advisory:
• Provide capital budgeting support to the management, evaluate investment proposals and calculate returns on investment using reliable methods (NPV/IRR) and recommend the most profitable ventures / projects.
• Mobilize retained earnings of the company to grow shareholders’ wealth and invest company funds through capital market instruments (equity/debt) to earn dividends / interest etc.
• Assess short-term and long-term capital needs of the company, raise finance for company projects from approved sources / banks and ensure adequate availability of funds for completion of existing and proposed projects in time.
• Prepare the annual operating budget, allocate resources to each department / function, implement the budget and monitor adherence to monetary provisions in the budget; note variance and implement corrective actions during the next budget cycle.
• Responsible for cash flow and fund flow analysis, generate cash flow statements, monitor the liquidity situation of the company and maintain adequate reserves to meet operations requirements as well as contingencies.
• Maintain and update the fixed assets register, create a depreciation fund and charge annual depreciation to fixed assets, recommend fixed assets sale / replacement decisions to the top management accordingly.
• Review business contracts and agreements, evaluate terms, conditions and clauses in supplier / service provider contracts and provide reliable advise to the management before contract finalization.
Cost Management:
• Review internal processes, compute overheads incurred for each activity in a given department, apportion costs to the correct cost centres and initiate proven measures to reduce expenditure.
• Generate cost accounting reports for senior management review and recommend improvements in business processes and systems based on studies conducted to identify excess overheads.
Audit Support:
• Prepare the audit plan, liaise with external auditors during statutory audits, provide accounting and financial information and address queries raised by auditors; furnish supporting documents, vouchers and proofs during audits.
• Assist in the preparation of the audit report, note deviations and present post-audit reports to the senior management.
• Work with the internal audit team to streamline process audits, evaluate the effectiveness of existing internal controls and note recommendations for process improvements.
Accounting:
• Oversee the preparation of books of accounts, ensure transactions are recorded as per standard accounting practices, verify accuracy of general ledger and trial balance and supervise preparation of financial statements for annual report publication.
• Conduct financial analysis and prepare financial statements and reports periodically to present the precise financial position of the company to the top management and external stakeholders.
• Assist in accounting and financial consolidation, present consolidated reports to the parent company, handle accounting reconciliations, adjustments and rectifications.
• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable, maintain favourable balance between ARs and APs, expedite receivables from debtors / customers and process payments of suppliers/3rd party service providers as per the credit policy of the company.
• Handle accounting for international trade transactions, secure letters of credit, export finance from banks and ensure compliance with statutory regulations and international trade guidelines.

Taxation:
• File sales and income tax returns, compute tax payable as per rates applicable in the region and work with Tax consultant to audit tax computations and declarations.
• Prepare tax returns program in Excel to ensure accuracy in filing, verify records conform to figures recorded in the internal accounting system and assist auditors during annual financial audits.
• Maintain accurate records of tax declaration and returns, payments made to the government authority and create digital archives for reference.
HR & Office Administration:
• Administer the HR policy of the company, contribute to staff recruitment, induction, training and performance appraisals and develop departmental performance reports.
