The Advanced Programme in Risk Management was the highest Enterprise Wide Risk Management qualification available in South Africa at the time of completion. The programme consisted of 10 modules, which I completed part time over a period of 3 years. The year modules are as follows: Risk Management - General Principles, Business Management, Statistics, Business Finance and Accounting, Economics, Risk Control - Managerial, Risk Control - Operational, Risk Financing - Insurance, Risk Financing - Self funding, Applied Risk Management Project. The Applied Risk Management Project was a thesis / dissertation on the Risks involved in the transportation of Asbestos by rail. The dissertation took one year to complete and involved in depth research and professional writing skills.

The National Diploma in Public Health is a 3 year full time Diploma which I completed in 1986, and subsequently registered with the South African Medical and Dental Council as Environmental Health Officer / Professional. The subjects passed are as follows: Anatomy and Physiology, Occupational Hygiene, Housing and housing Management, Building Science, Epidemiology, Health Administration, Health Education, Sanitary Science, Microbiology, Environmental Hygiene, Meat Hygiene, Food Hygiene, Social Psychology, Health Chemistry and Physics.
