Maintenance - Team Leader (Facilities)

Duties:
• Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel.
• Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance.
• Monitor tool and part inventories and the condition and maintenance of shops to ensure adequate working conditions.
• Compile operational and personnel records, such as time and production records
• Develop, implement, and evaluate maintenance policies and procedures.
• Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies.
• Examine objects, systems, or facilities, and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs.
• Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use
• Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, and provide employee safety training to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules.
• Inspect, test, and measure completed work, using devices such as hand tools and gauges to verify conformance to standards and repair requirements.
• Requisition materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts.
• Participate in budget preparation and administration, coordinating purchasing and documentation, and monitoring departmental expenditures.
• Perform skilled repair and maintenance operations, using equipment such as hand and power tools, hydraulic presses and shears, and welding equipment.
• Review, evaluate, accept, and coordinate completion of work bid from contractors.

Duties:
• Arranges furniture and equipment for the purpose of providing adequate preparation for special events.
• Assists skilled maintenance workers with projects (e.g. transporting and/or securing materials, completing specific tasks, etc.) for the purpose of completing projects in a safe, efficient manner.
• Coordinates with skilled tradesmen and/or assigned supervisor (s) for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently.
• Installs system parts, office equipment and facility components (e.g. lighting, heating and ventilating systems, alarms, plumbing, security, electrical panels, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and workable environment.
• Maintains assigned vehicle, tools and equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability in safe operating condition.
• Participates in workshops and trainings for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
• Performs a wide variety of general and semi-skilled maintenance activities (e.g. carpentry, electrical, etc.) for the purpose of completing projects within established time frames.
• Prepares written materials (e.g. repair status, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information.
• Responds to emergency situations during and after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
• Inspects facilities, equipment, systems (electrical, power sources, etc.); and work of vendors to determine condition of facilities, safe operation of equipment, quality and safety of work, and scheduled maintenance using hand, power and specialty tools.
• Plans and schedules corrective action and preventive maintenance to repair or modify defects and maintain operating condition of facilities and equipment using a computer and appropriate forms.
